Tomorrow, 10/7, we are planning to head southwest ultimately to Highland Haven Airstream Park near Roanoke, VA with a few days in the Shenandoah National Park. Of course the hurricane is projected to track right over these areas. We will be traveling down I-81.

The forecast is for heavy rain and moderate winds. Highland Haven is right on the top of the mountain. I am considering cancelling the trip due to this storm.

Any thoughts?

It is official the Mississippi Gulf Coast is safe. Jim Cantore has moved east to Alabama.

Hi

In keeping with my record this year .... yes indeed, it looks like the tail end of this one may (or may not) pass over our campsite as it heads back into the Atlantic. I'm not to worried about that part of it.

I do hope there isn't something strange as it hits the gulf coast.....

So you moved toward the strong northeast quadrant of the storm to get away from the eye. I would have thought a move to the west or northwest would have been better.

Not meaning any harm to you and yours, but if Nate got your memo and shifts east away from Biloxi to follow you, that moves him farther away from me, and I will thank you profusely for your foresight.

Please reread my previous post. I have not moved anywhere. I posted that Cantor moved to Alabama. He has been in Gulfport for the last couple of days. He moved to Dauphin Island to be more precise.

We're starting to get the first of Nate's wind and rain.

Nate ended up being a non-event for the New Orleans metro area, for which I am most grateful.

But since we didn't even have a power outage, I regret eating all of that ice cream to save it from melting!

All over. Just a bit windy and wet here in Biloxi. No more than a normal thunderstorm for this time of the year. Slept right thru the worst of it. 3:40AM, Just did a quick walk around outside of the house. No damage as far as I can see. Power did not even go out. Looking at the radar it appears the brunt of it ended up over more to the east of us.

That worked fine. Light rain on the roof of the 34' camper, slept like a baby.

Now there's #17. (Ophelia)
But unless you're in the Azores, you'll be fine. It's mid-atlantic and going NE.
I hope this signals the wrap up of the 2017 season.
