Trailer Park Music

For all you folks out there who listen to the VAP and enjoy the opening theme song, "Living in Aluminum".... the album Living in Aluminum by the Trailer Park Troubadours is no longer available... However, you can now download mp3 files from their website! If you are interested in purchasing these fun songs, check out the link below!

http://www.unhitched.com/home.html

Many of the songs remind me of the time we lived (actually did!) in a Central California Trailer Park in the San Joaquin Valley.... in a 1953 trailer.... (SOB) ... interesting cultural experience.

Thumbs up

We looked high and low for copies of their music as shipping to Canada for them through Airstream just wasn't worth it.

Ordered 3 troob discs last night, at 10 bucks a pop it's a steal for some very good music! I discovered a small bug in the system though, as multiple items in the shopping cart doesn't quite work. I sent an email and was responded to within minutes (at 11pm on Friday night no-less!!). They fixed me up in no time.

That's cool.

I'd appreciate it if you folks head over to get the song, send the Troubs a quick email note telling them you heard the song on theVAP.

It is very nice that they allow us to use it and I'm sure they'd love to hear some feedback.

Tim,

Too bad they are missing the opportunity to have their work on iTunes. That's a great way for indie labels to get known.

We looked for their music too, they do have a couple of albums (current) listed under music on the airstream website (if my senior memory is working this am....) but it was the "Living in Aluminum" we really wanted! We were delighted to finally find it!

I did have some issues with my downloads because of AOL.... but finally got it to work, with the very quick response and help from the folks at the troub website! They were awesome!

Glad there are others out there who can now enjoy!

Christmas Album

For all you Troubadour fans, they have a Christmas album coming out called "Merry Christmas from the Trailer Park". They are taking preorders for it now at their website:
http://www.unhitched.com/

They have some sample tracks you can listen to.

It looks like the unhitched website is getting maintenance until mid-morning. I'll look forward to seeing it.

2 Downloadable T-Troubadour songs

There seems to be a measure of cooperation between artists & blogs in the days after Napster and other download thieves. I follow a number of similar sources -- publicity & putting in a plug for the artist looks to be the objective. 128kbps links have been allowed to a couple of Antsy McClain Christmas tunes at Postmodern Sounds in Country and Western Music. You can "Save Target as.." (I.E.) or "Save Link as.." (Firefox) to download to your PC. These links are usually available for not much more than a week or two, so you may not get anywhere if reading this after this month. But give the Troubadours a break too and cruise on over to their online store!
