Thumbs up Trailer inspection in Tallahassee required

Dear All
I am very interested in a 34' Airstream based in Tallahassee, Florida, USA and because I am based in the UK I am unable to view it before making an offer. The photos look very good, but as you can appreciate being so far away can be a major disadvantage. The seller has been excellent and has answered all my questions and forwarded further information and i have no reason at all to doubt his honesty.
Though I would appreciate a second opinion by one of you Airstream experts. So if someone is able to view it and give me their considered opinion before I make my offer that would be fantastic

Regards Mike

hi mike,

my guess is no one has responded to your post because it sounds like you're just kicking tires at the moment, meaning no one is going to inspect a trailer for someone who's probably not going to buy it, it would be wasting their time.

my advice is to do alot more homework on that particular trailer, find out how much shipping would actually be, etc. if you can prove to someone that you are SERIOUSLY interested, then maybe someone will perform an inspection for you.

good luck!

When we were serious about a trailer in Texas (we are in California) we asked on this forum for someone to take a look at it for us. Just as here, no one was willing to take a look. I guess we were 'too new' to the Forum and no one could be bothered. What we did was call the Airstream Dealership closest to the seller in Texas. They recommended a person that had a great local reputation as a mobile RV service person. We called him and contracted at a very modest fee for him to go out and take a look and report back to us. We really were hopeful that it would be as advertised. It was all that and more. We sealed the deal. My husband flew out to Dallas to see it in person before handing over our money and meanwhile I worked with UShip to hire a delivery service. It arrived, it is beautiful. A happy ending.

I'm sorry you haven't had any success finding an inspector. Asking for help in a thread is sometimes not enough as someone from that area would actually have to read the thread.

So I have some suggestions:

Use the advanced search function in our membership data base to locate active members near Tallahassee. PM them and ask if they would be willing to look. Be sure to search cities near Tallahassee as folks may be willing to drive a few miles to look.

We have a list of volunteer trailer inspectors and you can find that list here.

Hello,
I've located a very nice looking 1987 25' Airstream that I would like to buy. I really need to have this unit inspected before I commit. A suggestion of an inspector or a local RV Service business with Airstream experience would be appreciated. Thank you.

advanced search

Read the above post by Janet and do the advanced search. You can locate someone and then send them a PM (private message) from your Private Messaging area on here. If someone is signed up to inspect and you message them you are more likely to get a response. The threads that are posted are sometimes not "on top" of the page and are missed by some folks that work and aren't near a computer all day long. Good luck on your search.

Hi Robert. Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Your post fails to mention where this Airstream is located. Is it in Brandon?

Brian,

DOH! Sorry about that. The Airstream is located in Stuart Florida. I live in Brandon though.

Robert
