If it was me I would have the welding done where the trailer is now. Then you can tow it home. I would think the cost of having it put on a low boy would be much more than the repairs will cost. Google "Mark The Airstream Guy" I think he can help you get it moved.

Thanks aceflys. I did weigh pros and cons of welding on site but I have found a method of getting it hauled closer to me (so I can monitor both welding and other repairs that will be needed) on a low boy that will be less money than me driving there and towing with a rental truck. I don't own a vehicle strong enough to tow it yet was another factor. One of the other members gave me some tips on what to watch for based on his experience and I am just hoping for the best at this point.
