No surprise there. The amount of chaos predicted for a 90-minute eclipse event was greater than what we typically see on the Gulf Coast for a major hurricane evacuation!

Tampa had 81%.
There wasn't a cloud in the sky, it was good. I could tell it got a little darker, but the temperature felt the best. Not much radiant heat from the Sun. The shadows all looked scalloped.
I got to use my ellipse glasses! Very cool.
I did lean up against something because looking almost straight up while wearing black lenses, I felt like I'd tip over. No references.
I called friends in Greenville, (where I had an invite but stayed home) and they were stoked! They had set up a telescope with a projection card to monitor the progress, and now they're cooking the "after eclipse" barbecue. They said the Cicada's started chirping.

Would like to have seen the total eclipse.

Here in the NE, I took a long nap.

It is now getting brighter outside.

Please resume normal activities!

Certainly over-hyped! Truly amazing that people would pay hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for such an event. I don't get it. But then again, many of my friends and relatives say the same thing about me for paying so much for an aluminum tube

Enjoyed it. The photos don't really do it justice. The little bright spot near the antenna is the sun at totality. Second one is with a better camera.

Folks I didn't know what to expect but I was floored. I was standin in a lake in the middle of Shawnee Forest all by myself but I could hear cheers and music in the distance and I really don't know what to say, it was much more powerful than I thought it would be. I was shakin when total darkness came. There were clouds in the sky but it opened right up over the lake during totality. There was thunder in the distance. Birds sang. The lake turned black under my feet and the reflection of the sun's corona rippled in the black water. It was really something!

Cloud covered.

Turned the lights on in the trailer so my Jenni wouldn't get too spooked. She was NOT impressed! She thinks it shouldn't get dark until it's suppertime. Heavy clouds, so all we had was dark, cool, and just plain freaky feeling.

My wife was really earnest to see it, so we put out the zero-gravity chairs and donned a couple of welding-helmets.... looking really foolish out in the front yard.

The DOG..., however,.... was truly THRILLED that we'd lay out in the yard with her for so long. (She didn't seem to find the eclipse particularly interesting, tho'.)

I felt the same way....

My wife and I were parked off Hwy 26, just outside Prairie City, Oregon. Not a cloud in the sky. I wish the eclipse wasn't over so quickly. I believe we had about two minutes...it felt like seconds.

Unifreck's eclipse photo

Some of the Wyoming Rock Dockers rendezvoused at my place, Mt. Angel, Oregon.

Here's a photo Unifreck took:

We all hope you were eclipsed, too!!
