Total Loss of "Our Gussy" and 2006 Green Machine towster

First, let me say that all parties, including our two standard poodles, walked away from this accident with the exception of my wife. She spent 1 1/2 hours trapped in the cab until extracted by the jaws of life. Fortunately, she did not sustain any breaks or internal injuries - just a minor concussion & stiff & sore neck. The two people in the other car also walked awaywith only minor cuts. The attending paramedics, police and the team with the jaws of life as well as all of the concerned bystanders we all marvelous, a lady nearby the accident site was able to take the poddles to her house for most of the day and then returned them to the hotel that evening. I am very grateful to the kind people who came to our rescue.

The accident happened on I-40 a few miles west of Flagstaff, AZ about 9:20 am. Tuesday, June 17 (sorry, no pictures yet & can't discuss the accident until charges laid) Our Ford F350 towster vehicle and our 22' 1975 Argosy both rolled and as a result are write-offs. They now both reside at the Tow Rite auto wreckers yard. The roof on Gussy is caved in so far you cannot stand up without banging your head. What a sory end for Our Gussy.

We are staying at AmeriSuites hotel in Flagstaff while my wife recoups from her sore neck. I have rented a box truck and over the next day or so I plan to take everything out of the trailer and the towster for our trip home to Washington State. The job is shaping up to be daunting, it is amazing how much stuff I seem to have taken along 'just in case'. One problem is we have not yet found our laptop computer or the charger to our cell phone. I'm using the Hotel Computer to type this.

If there is any one who is in the Flagstaff area that could possible help or perhaps be interested in any of the trailer or truck part could you please phone Gerry @1-800-833-1516 or (928) 774-8042 and ask for room 526.

Tow rite is located at 3785 e Huntington Dr. in Flagstaff.

Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about the accident. I'm glad everyone's ok. My husband had to be cut out of a car with the jaws-o-life once, and it was pretty scary for both of us (though thanks to the concussion he doesn't remember it at all).

That sure is nice someone helped with the dogs, I've always wondered what would happen in an accident with the dogs.

Glad you are okay

That must have been a very scary experience. Glad you are okay and you are probably still in shock.

Hopefully you are insured for a "Vintage", "Restored" and "Collectible" travel trailer. It is important in dealing with insurance companies that you establish the value of your very nice Argosy as "Restored and Collectible" with photos and receipts. We suffered a total loss with our Airstream over New Year's and we received a good insurance settlement. Please PM me if you have any questions about our experience and how it may relate to yours.

Take care and be well. pj

Wow! At least all the "live" members of this accidental get-together are pretty much okay. There are so many ways it could have gone even more badly than it did.
Once the dust clears, maybe you can share some of the details with us.

Gerry,

My heart goes out to you and your wife. I am so thankful you two were ok, outside of stiff and sore.

Thank heavens for kind people who cared for the dogs and brought them to you. It just goes to show there are still kind people in this world. We found out last January just how many are left.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Marie

Here's to speedy mends to the both of you! I hope you four have an uneventful trip home.
Best wishes!
