Tornadoes in L.A.?
The National Weather Service has just issued a Tornado Warning for Los Angeles County and surrounding areas. I hope no one gets hurt in this.
I thought we got away from this stuff when we moved here from Florida?
At least I haven't heard of any recent hurricanes in the area, but I guess that could change as well. Tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires, mudslides... Gloom and Doom...

Tornado warning cancelled
Good news, Overlander63: About 15 min ago, I got an automated call from the Seal Beach Police Dept., announcing the cancellation of the tornado alert. I'm assuming this covers LA as well, but we have a few more systems moving in after this one passes, so keep the hatches battened down, just in case!
Cheers,
Jerry

I saw a five-finger funnel cloud over Rancho Bernardo in San Diego county many years ago. Tornadoes can happen anywhere.

It's been nuts in the OC (for Orange County standards that is):

Seems everyplace has something to offer. Personally I'd rather deal with Hurricanes. You get lots of notice in comparison.

Anyone living in southern Ca remember to slow down in the rain, and not drive like bats through puddles. Saw 3 cars nearly wipe out on the way to work. Gotta be first, gotta be first seems to be the mantra . Be second and get there.

The rain actually excites me, we're in for more of it this week. A little more on and off than last week, but it's coming!

Didn't you know that Southern CA has four seasons. Hot/Dry, Fire, Rain, and Mud slide.
By the time your moisture has made it to us, we get an annoyingly small amount of snow. The temp keep going above freezing during the day and below at night. So we have lots of snow that is now ice. We also had two sunny days in the last three weeks.
