TORNADO - 5 miles away and closing

Was catching up and the weather radio went off - I'm going to the hall way. We need rain but this is too much.

Back in a few.

Good Karma to you and QUICK! . . . . Mike, you and Tina take care of you first. Give us a heads up when it's over and can communicate. It's been nearly an hour now. . . .

Safe and sorry for the scare.....

Sorry about the scare - the weather radio on auto alert really works - I would recommend one to all of you.

Guess my post was to alarming - not my intention - the tornado was spotted just off I-10 and heading NNE towards us onlly 5 miles away. A county sheriff spotted it not quite on the ground - I looked and could see the cloud but it never dropped. When the radio went off the TV started beeping and there was a gust of wind - we went for cover.

Thanks for all the concern - it has passed but we are still under a watch for the next 4 hours.

The old saying - "when it rains it pours" is very true. We have had 3.5 inches today - more than the last 3 months.

Again, not my intention to scare - I was in front of the keyboard about to send Sugarfoot a PM and just started posting.

Mike

P.S. Yes, Dacia - the dogs are in the house and all safe - the third dog is Boudreaux (it fits).

Great report, and congratulations on the 3.5 inches of rain. What a gift, IF it comes tornado free! Karma for a night free of alerts~G

Just lost power - generator kicked in and I'm up. All the dead pines by the lines from Katrina are now rotting and falling down on the lines.

Neighborhood is dark - what a flashback to Katrina.

Back soon - gotta do my power management stuff

Darkness is better than homeless

What a relief! Glad everyone is safe, you, Tina, Daisy, Clancy, Boudreaux (the Cajun Labrador ) and all. Hopefully, nothing will progress further than a little power outage.

Wow - you folks in the area take care. Scary stuff when mother nature decides to let loose.

My gosh, you guys getting swacked with rain and parts of CA burning down.

Our thoughts are with you.

My weather radio is at work I guess it's working. More rain coming, tornado watch for a few more hours. Our dogs won't go out!
