Ticks

Some brilliant person shared this little tid-bit on my Facebook page. I think it is good for all of us to know who enjoy our time in the woods

Our vet says to put Vaseline on ticks that have attached to pets.

OMG!

I'm not sure I could maintain any composure whatsoever if there were that many ticks on me!

Good idea, tho.

^^. Sure they do just not me!
Chiggers are my dread! Haven't had them since I was a kid, long ago.
Still cringe when I think of them. Very unpleasant.

Great idea with the lint roller

If you sprinkle your shoes and socks liberally with powdered sulfur before walking in areas infested with chiggers, they won't bother you--unless you sit down in the grass.

Now, people may take offense at how you smell, but you won't have to itch for days with chigger bites.

Missouri and Arkansas, must be the tick capital of the US. So far we've avoided them somehow. Maybe they don't like my blood.

I think the original Indiana Jones movie would have been just as good if he had muttered the phrase, "Ticks. I hate ticks." when he opened the Egyptian tomb. Ticks creep me out more than snakes. The lint roller tip for removing ticks from your clothing is a great idea (I always keep a lint roller in the door pocket of my truck). Too bad it wouldn't work on my Golden Retriever. That's why he gets regular treatments with Vectra 3D (we get if from our Vet) especially during the warmer months of the year and prior to vacations in our AS.
