The fire department is currently responding to a conflagration at our local Airstream dealer. Details will follow as they become available.

Is it too late to get mine onto their lot before the firetrucks arrive?

Film at 11?

The fire appears to have started in the shop, and spread through the rest of the building. Several trailers and coaches were in the building at the time of the blaze. A second alarm was called shortly after the first units arrived, and the fire was under control about an hour ago, with an assist from Mother Nature in the form of a torrential downpour.
The shell of the building still stands, but it is a gutted shell. Any forum members that have coaches being repaired by Vanland RV (Our Family RV) should call 239-995-6000 in the morning for more info.
If our local newspaper covers the blaze, I will post a link.

Rather than posting a link that will be deaad in a few days or weeks, I have copied the initial story from the online version of the paper. I seem to have more details than they do, at least this early in the story:

RV Center fire out in North Fort Myers
Originally posted on July 19, 2006

Firefighters have extinguished a fire that started before 6 p.m. at Our Family RV Center in North Fort Myers.

At 5:45 p.m., dispatchers received a call about a fire in the back of the RV dealer’s repair shop at 16901 N. Cleveland Ave.

“When we arrived, the whole back was involved,” said North Fort Myers Chief Terry Pye.

Six units were dispatched and fought the fire that started in the garage of the business, which is separate from the main office. The business sells and repairs RVs, Pye said. He said it’s unclear how the fire started, but that employees had left for the day when it started. It started at an RV in the garage and spread through the roof.

Firefighters fought the blaze with a truck that sprays a white mixture of air, foam and water, which is better at fighting fires than water alone, he said. He said they purchased the truck two weeks ago.

“It’s definitely paid off today,” he said.
