I know what you mean. visited the AS yesterday, covered in snow. It seems like it will be a long winter before I get to use her again. BUT I've been to Ikea again and have more stuff for her, can't wait to show off some of my buys. MPJ

I love Ikea! I'm going this week and see if I can find a bathroom faucet I like. Post your pics on mods for under $100

I went to Ikea yesterday but didn't get to buy anything for the Westy. So sad. But it was crazy there b/c of the big sale. We had to get parts for a lampshade that we had purchased incomplete for our son's dorm room. We were on the way home from Birmingham where we were visiting our son at college for his 20th birthday. I was hoping to look for the perfect rug for our tiny Westy kitchen but could not justify navigating the enormous crowd or standing in the checkout for such a small purchase.
One of the sad facts of Westy ownership compared to 28' CCD ownership is that there are fewer places to put Ikea stuff!
We removed the Westy's TV today so now I have a 4"x12" area that could get an Ikea treatment but not today! We are expecting snow tonight in our little GA town and Atlanta is supposed to be a mess! Plus, I read on line that this big sale has been extended two more weeks.
We did make it out of Ikea yesterday with some of our favorite grocery items.
My AS forum avatar is from our big snow of winter 2010. I hope I get to wake up tomorrow with a snowy Westy to take a picture of to replace the CCD. A bonus would be to get Cooper jumping for a snowball in the foreground again.

Well, I've never been to South Dakota, but this is what South Carolina looks like today:
Guess I should have rolled up the awning!

Nebraska is a pretty state. In the 60's in May I rode my Harley along the Missouri from Niobrara to the west. Sand back roads with everything in bloom on both sides of the road. Just beautiful.

Cold and snow is my yearly nightmare. I had planned to retire early and move to a warmer climate. I forgot one small detail.

Sad to read about flooding. It'd take a Noah's flood to flood my home. We do have 6 inches of new snow here and it's still snowing. Started Saturday.

Nice trailer, nice dog. My awning roller is wintering at the machine shop. Your snow looks terrible! I thought you lived in a mild climate with sandy beaches and sunny skies. What's the deal with the snow?

Anyone caught out by a quick freeze?
I guess we have an advantage up here in Ontario where Winter's freeze is always expected and we pretty much have our trailer's plumbing winterized just before November arrives.
The current very cold weather forecast for the "deep south" got me wondering just how far south in the US a trailer needs to go before it can truly forego a proper winterizing. Southernmost parts of FL, AZ, CA? I mean it would be easy to get caught out!

Hey Paul,
Ya might say I winterized my plumbing. It's all in a pail in the shop:-) I like Canada. I like the geography and I like the people. I have limited but all good experiences there. I will not be going there in the winter any time soon. I hate snow and cold.

Hey Craig,
I been watching Atlanta on the CNN news. We have terrible drivers here. Today I saw a woman back a car into the interstate median about 60 miles an hour. It was so slippery if I'da tried to stand up on the highway I'da fallen on my butt. And these idiots are driving like summer. We had like 110 accidents today. This is a small town.
I worked today, but I should have stayed home.

He lives "upstate"...but even the sandy beaches get snow sometimes, not that they are prepared for it.

Didn't Miami get into the upper 20's earlier this winter? or maybe it was the 40's but I know they were complaining about being cold down there
