The husband sounds like the person who already knows everything, .............about everything, especially RV's.

Wonder if he knows that you can glue "orange peels" on tires, to save the rubber from wearing out.

The OP wrote that the 4 pin connector was on the TV, and the pop-up already has a 7 pin umbilical. That's why I'm thinking that there are some kind of brakes there.

Good point. Its easy to get lost in some of the replies. Sounds like they need to get the TV wired with 7 pin receptacle. However, at 1700# the brakes aren't a requirement in most states but I would recommend their use anyway.

I stopped at my friends house yesterday and she is *going-to-town*! I am so proud of her. She was in the middle of replacing the hold-down brackets and had just finished fixing some weather stripping.

Her van now has a brake controller and an appropriate connector. She has an appt today to have a break-away added to the pop-up. I said "so you decided to add a battery" and she said, "not yet" followed by "well, I am a little confused and you are so smart about this stuff" . Hummmmm. I failed to correct her - I'll think I'm smart for another 24 hrs first. I will stop by this weekend to see if she got a battery and the break-away.

Anyway, she's reading the pop-up forums and learning a lot. It is amazing what anyone can learn/do with a bit of enthusiasm and motivation!!!

Laura

PS - this is a girl I hired as my engineering assistant. The same girl who, when told to sign a "hard copy" of a form we had filled out on the computer, tapped the monitor and said, "this is the hard copy, right?"

Guess she could get a utility trailer break-away since those have a self contained battery.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Very cool! Maybe that's what she's getting.

I wasn't trying to suggest she was wrong about the break-away/battery - but wrong about me being so smart!
