The Perseids Meteor showers are upon us...

...for all you campers away from the city lights, Aug 11 & Aug 12 are peak nights (after midnight) for the annual Perseids Metero showers...possibly 100's per hour...!

Fun stuff to watch as the family vie for who can spot the most satellites in the night sky!

Just after midnight crossing into Oregon from California.

We made a few wishes and everything! You know, asked for world peace, enough cold, hard cash to get us through this recession, some hand bags, some pretty shoes, some shiney new pneumatic/De Walt/Snap On tools, a garage large enough to hold a fleet of silver trailers, health, happiness, contentment, . . .

We're looking forward to tomorrow's show too. We'll spend the day coming up with some new wishes.

We watched last night and only saw a few...not as big a 'show' as we'd hoped...

I can remember about 15-20 years ago, our whole family camped out in our back yard to watch the 'show', and there were many small 'shooting stars' and several very LARGE ones, lighting up our whole yard! It was an eerie experience...
