They had over 100 buyers looking at taking over, last I heard.
I think the expectation is that production of tho favorites will continue.

I know I saw a picture of your collector car on here someplace Bob. Can you either repost a picture or give me a link to where it is posted?
Thanks

So --I was thinking of yours when I seen this picture. It is almost the same car? Thought it might have been Grama?

Nostalgia is a fascinating emotion. It's good to remember that the era we are nostalgic for is represented by a people who were nostalgic for an even earlier period.....and so on! In other words, we don't like change. And for good reason. As you age, your adaptability diminishes. To see this at work, watch a 60 year old fumble with a remote stick only to have a 10 year old grab it and make the necessary adjustment to the TV.
I am caring for my 92 year old mom. Although she is smart as a whip, and in full control of her mind, she is boggled by remotes, and menus, and mice and teeny-tiny buttons with odd looking glyphs printed for instruction. It's not a world designed for the old. It frustrates her no end. If she accidentally sits on her cable remote, the TV will become virtually disabled until I come over to sort it out. Even I struggle for 10 minutes to get the picture back. I am just 30 years behind her.
I too would like a simple rotary phone, and a simple "on/off knob" on the TV. But then again, in reality I don't want to be calling the TV Man with his box of tubes every three months, right? With nostalgia, we often forget the bad parts. Brakes and spark plugs every 15,000 miles? Ugh!
Fun though!
Fun thread to read!

I completely see your point. But back in "the old days" plugs and points cost pocket change and you did it under the shade tree. Sal

Some things are still old age.
When are they going to start using "ham" in "hamburgers"?
Or maybe change the name to "beefburgers".

We do need some of those ' goodoldays' back Bob.
We used to park between speakers in the back row and use a speaker on each side front and back window. Would this be early STEREO? (it helped muffle the sounds from the back seat)
Only problem was - some character ran into the cord and broke the drivers side window.

I Still Miss This Car
Infiniti J30. Described as a "strange-looking Japanese Lincoln," it sure was a head turner.
But those heads stopped turning in 1996 when Infiniti replaced the J30 with the more mundane "I" series.
Finity to my Infiniti.

Lifetime Warranty
I wondered if this was really true.
But after doing research I have confirmed that AIRSTREAM did actually give a lifetime warranty on their products.
See page 4 for the actual image.
http://www.tompatterson.com/VAC/Bull...M%20Manual.pdf
I think AIRSTREAM must have accidental omitted that on my CLIPPER documentation.

Airstream, many years ago, indeed had a "life time warranty" BUT, it was on a limited number of things, never a complete warranty.
We can all thank the "legal systems" for it's demise.
