TGTWINKIE- had a couple of those myself, a 41 ford and a 46 dodge I miss them a lot more than the ex's who took them
As i recall with the windshield cranked open on the dodge, bugs would deflect off the hood right into your teeth- dont really miss that part.

Yikes!

Rotary dial phones and whitewall tires.... Is this the Twilight Zone? Howdy Doody and The Mickey Mouse Club are on the old RCA B&W TV in the front room! Would someone go over and turn the rotary channel selector dial to change the channel? I think it's time for Shock Theater! Ed

When we had to get up to change the channel, we didn't need to go to no fitness center!

Yep! Those were the days.......! I still remember the gummy mess the tobacco croppers tracked into my car carpeting! What a PITA to get that off. The gas was .32 cents a gallon and you could fill the tank and get change back from your $5.00 Bill. Ed

Rumrunner; mine is a '46 Dodge. I have owned it since 1969. My first pickup. Had to make payments on it back then. The purchase price was $150.00.

The old TV is something we do NOT need, Ed.

My 06 Dodge---no power windows, no power door locks, no cruise control. Still available but it almost seems as if it costs more to go oldstyle. jim

Glad to hear that these options can still be avoided. We did the same with our 2000 truck. Evidently, non-option trucks are sometimes called contractor trucks. Fine by me.

We've learned the hard way that electronic control units do go bad, and that manufacturers do not keep producing old ones. Our 96 Honda now has no air bags, no remote lock and no working right-rear window. (By contrast, the MG uses all manual stuff. And all of that stuff is still available, and the company hasn't even existed since 1980.)

My '98 Dodge has wind up windows, manual door locks and a 5 speed manual transmission. It does have cruise control.
