This may be a personal subject, but I have a question; Do you use the sheets, pillow cases, or comforters, etc from a used trailer you have purchased?
After proper laundering, I see no need in throwing it out when it is still usable. JM2cW.

I never use used linens that come with a used trailer, for the same reason I never sleep in a motel room. Who knows what the last person to sleep on them had?

If it can go through the washing machine -
then that is your choice!

What about the matresses and the cushions
and the upholstery and the drapes?

My wife had all of our stuff professionally
cleaned!!

If the upholstery can be cleaned and is usable, I would keep it. It seems I seldom get a unit in that good of shape where the soft goods are concerned.

I travel extensively and stay in motels routinely. As such, if the bedding is in good condition and clean I'd have no problem keeping it in service.

If I was afraid something so sketchy had gone on that I was afraid to use the sheets, I would be afraid to use the entire camper. I say wash em and go camping.

Millions of people sleep every day on washed sheets, pillow cases and comforters in motels and hospitals I would and have no problem with it.

A far as I am concerned, bedding washed with detergent and a little disinfectant is going to be clean. I would not be afraid to use it, as I would not be afraid of clean, washed clothing or bedding from a resale shop. Once I get it in my hands and get it clean, it is as safe as something new. I would definitely shampoo upholstery if it is in reasonable shape to begin with, just using my own judgement as to how bad it could be and whether it needs replaced or not. But then I've been an antiquer, flea market scavenger and recycler all my life, so I've never been afraid of "used". Guess that's why I'm in a vintage Airstream in the first place.

Some people are fine to re-use, but I prefer to buy new quality bedding in the fabric, color and thread count of my liking, thus making it "mine."

Terry is right, motel rooms are nasty. As a personal thing, I try to avoid sleeping in beds that strangers have slept in (motels, etc.) and won't wear used clothes (recycling is great but not with clothing). Some people are picky about such things--some are not.

as long as they were in good shape i probably would. Unless they were a weird color, my wife would change 'em pronto..................right now the fitted and pillow cases are hot pink, flat sheet is a royal blue and I think she has a handmade quilt that is creme with blue circles and burgundy squares........

Hi, absolutely not; toss them or use them for shop rags Etc. Buy new sheets and wash them good before useing them. In our motel days we brought our own sheets from home. In my opinion, I think used bedding is the same as wearing used underwear. If the mattress looks good I would buy a new mattress cover and new pillows. If I was, or if your are, dirt poor and truely can't afford new bedding then wash and bleach the heck out of them.

Yes, I am poor. My vintage Airstream trailer keeps me that way.

I have 3 treasured handmade antique quilts passed down through the family, I use them all. Who knows who slept under them in the last 80 years? I also have an antique navajo blanket that I bought at auction in NM, that I use for a throw. God knows where that has been. All have been cleaned. And I use bedding (and, towels, etc) regularly in my guest room that people other than my family sleeps on.....when they are used, I toss them in the washer, get them clean and put them back on the bed. Wouldn't dream of buying new every time. A friend gave me her used comforter when she changed decor in her bedroom. The list goes on. To each his own, but I think once it is washed and clean, there is no reason to toss out something that has been used. My kids wore a lot of hand-me-downs and pass-along clothes. But then I was raised thrifty, waste not want not, use it up, make it do, recycle, all that. Being thrifty is the ony way I can afford a vintage Airstream! Or vintage money pit house, for that matter!
