The last 1/2 ton thread

I saw Ben Affleck pulling a 34' Panamerica in a stock F150 with no WD hitch in a movie - therefore that is perfectly safe and recommended behavior.

I don't think we need any discussion about 3/4 ton trucks, or minivans for that matter - Ben did it, it's in a movie, movies are truthful...

Sorry only the Internet can be trusted unless "as seen on TV", fake movies just don't cut it.

I know for certain the movie had Canam build a custom F450 frame and chassis bolted to a F150 body because they wanted the extra engine braking for the interior shots.

That's funny because Can Am did do a hookup for a tandem bicycle to pull a 1960 Pacer for a T V show on conserving energy.

On level ground you could pull the trailer with a golf cart. You could move it at more than 5 mph if it was a 1/2 ton golf cart.

Since this is the last one, can we finally stop calling them 1/2 tons?

The Pan-America was the only good part of that movie.

The 1/2 mile shot with the Barrett ranked high as well.

There's a little bit of pig in both of them. The 1/2 axle carries lighter loads, but is also an easier axle for the shock absorbers to control on rough roadways. The 3/4 ton axle carries heavier loads but is substantially heavier and more likely to beat the hull out of owner and his Airstream on rough roadways.

We like the ride of our 1/2 ton and so does our Airstream, it's axles are easily capable of carrying more than we need at home and when we travel.

Wow....yall are out of control. Pull your trailer with whatever you please....but please do not cry to your insurance company when they deny your claim because you exceeded the limits of your TV. If yu want to push it to the limits and rip through transmissions and rearends...have a good time. Take responsibility for your own actions when you run on the edge...
