This might be the answer for the Airstream trailer vs motorhome question.
Airstream builds the trailer with a combo of aluminum and f/g with alumimum frame and modern weather resistant materials. The trim/rubrail and below the rubrail would be poslished aluminum, co-ordinated with factory installation of trim on the Freightliner power unit.
When you get the million miles on the power unit you just buy another one. The trailer would last forever.
This way Airstream does not have to worry about the power train, just the quality of their trailer.
They could even relaunch the skydeck trailer!
