Well, I won't say they're my best, but they are very, very handy: Dental picks, the kind that they poke around in your teeth with. I think of this because the couple I've got are pretty worn out, and hardware stores that carry them are pretty rare. However, yesterday I was at the dentist for my cleaning appointment, and I mentioned the usefulness of picks. Lo and behold, she said that they've got a whole drawer full of broken ones, and she gave me six or seven of them! (Broken is a relative term; their points were snapped, but I can easily resharpen them!) I'm set for the next decade!

Good idea! If you don't have a dentist who's willing to share, check out Duluth Trading. We got a set there (along with a bunch of other fun stuff!)

Amen to Rodney about the spiral bound atlas - the newest Good Sam atlas came out with a magazine-type binding - the kind where the pages are glued at the edge. It doesn't stand up to use by real travelers!

We really like our tire leveler - I think there's only been one occasion where our parking pad was level enough to go without it. As an added bonus, it would certainly slow down anyone trying to take off with our trailer.

I have three:
1) Cordless drill with 3/4" socket for the BAL's
2) Torque wrench for the lugs
3) Tire pressure guage for TV and trailer tire pressure
Use #1 & #3 on every trip and #2 before every long trip. Safe towing a must.
Next to those would be my mid-1930's Waring "Blendor" two speed blender. Makes the best frozen drinks I've ever made. 70 years old and still going strong!

So many to pick from.....
Bottle/ Wine opener is definitely one.
Duct tape sure is handy and a must for those unexpected situations.
But my new favorite handy airstream item is the no battery hand crank flashlights...never need to worry about it going dead and it has built in flashers for a road side emergency. I bought 3 more at Costco for stocking stuffers for Christmas..

We bought some of those bright yellow 'lego blocks' for the last trip..works great!..we also bought the orange block that the trailer 'crank stem' sits on, keeps it on ground level.

Haven't seen any post from you lately Brent, I thought you might have gone on a lonnnnng camping trip and forgotten about us. How are things with the Airstream. Did you get your final warranty items fixed?

Not really sure what a Margarita Ball is. But, I consider my Waring Blendor a tool since it is necessary in making " that frozen concoction that helps me hang on"!

Without a doubt this forum.
This forum can keep me up, meaning awake, like a newlywed. The information, mental stimulation, reality, fun, intelligent and dumb humor about Airstream life is peerless.
And I just printed up a post on the RivitNut to file.
