The bear ate me yesterday!

I forget who, but one of the Forum members has a signature line that says, "Some days you eat the bear, and some days he eats you."

I plum got ate up yesterday!

First my new 16" Michelin LT tires and new wheels both showed up with the UPS guy. Great!

Take them to the tire store and the incompetent boneheads chipped the clearcoat on two wheels and badly gouged another!

I was so upset that I promptly came home and did this:

Bummer to see this. Yes it looks like the bear got you. But there are more days to eat the bear ahead!

I don't think I like bears. They seem to be a little bit mean.

Sorry! I did a similar thing in the rain/hail! I was mad about the rain and hail so I guess I was rushing and.... Got to close to the moulding on the house! With both claims it was @ 12 grand! Yikes but I was insured and they (Blue Sky) have been great. I'm waiting until November so it didn't mess up our camping for the season. Mine was the rear corner panel and 6 top panels that were hit by hail. I'm going with Griffith RV in OKC.
Good luck and stop feeding the bears.

Been there done that! I told the insurance co that I was parked and the house must have jumped forward and got me.

Adjuster will be at the house in about an hour. Feedback on Progressive? On the phone, he seemed well informed about ASes. Already got an estimate in my pocket if he tries to go astray. Any tips for a first time AS insurance claim guy?

My crease from the jumping house looked exactly like yours. I have had USAA for 30 years and always thought they were great. USAA farmed the RV stuff to Progressive. This was my first interaction with progressive and it was better than great. They exceeded any and all expectations. I hope you get similar service.

Since some folks often ask about insurance companies, I'll update. The adjuster was at the house within 4 hours of my call to the Claims Center. He was very knowledgeable about Airstreams and their unique construction. He asked if I was going to take it to dealer XXXX. I told him I'd prefer to take it elsewhere, since I had not heard favorable opinions with the closest one. He said I could take it anywhere I wanted, on my own dime, of course.

I already had an estimate from a dealer about 250 miles away. He looked it over and approved. I asked if I could get an estimate from JC Service Center and he said fine. So Chris Burch is working up an estimate and hopefully I'll be at the Terraport at month end.

So far Progressive has been wonderful.

So, a Manager from Discount Tire called this morning. They now will not repair my wheels. Instead he proactively ordered 4 NEW WHEELS. How 'bout that?

It's all settled. Progressive worked out a very minor accounting issue with the estimate from JC, cut me a check, and I have an appt. at JC for early November.

re. the last two posts...I guess that ole bear aint so tough after all!

That damn Bear!

It showed up here yesterday. 10 minutes into the break in if my 57 Chev Nomad tow vehicle.....the motor went South....way South. Back to the truck for a while....but I am still on for the Indian Nation moving Rally this month....even though I have been essentially "scalped."

The quote came from the movie "The Big Lebowski" and "The Stranger" is the story teller thru-out the film. Not everyone's "cup of tea"...but I find the movie funny.

Yeah, well, you know...that's just, like your opinion, man! -The Dude- 1998

Was this a crate motor or your own build? Way south...like rod hanging out the block? Sorry.
