I agree you can argue and still be pedantic.
However your argument is backwards. When argument devolves into pedantry, the entropy of the system is increased. The energy of the argument is no longer capable of useful work in moving opinion.
In other words, your statement is irreversible. You cannot be pedantic and still argue effectively.
So pedantry represents lost work (entropy) and is nothing but wasted energy in an argument.
QED> doesn't belong in the Argue thread.

I never mentioned effectiveness!
Arguing effectively is called "debating." Not like televised political "debates," which aren't really debates at all, but rather like college debate team-style debates using the rules of logic. Unfortunately, this is not the Debate Thread, so your argument regarding arguing effectively is not valid here.

Keep in mind that after making a post, you have 30 minutes to go back and edit it.
This is handy if you want to change sides of an argument. I believe that then you can safely deny what you said in the first place.

Ah, New Years' Day. A chance to make a bunch of resolutions we won't keep, reflect on the past year and suck down brews and overeat in the extreme.
I particularly enjoyed the Rose Bowl game. Georgia put the HURT on a bunch of Okies.  What a game.
Just my not so humble opinion.

THOSE Okies were from OU, and deserved to have the hurt put to them in double overtime. MY Okies are from OSU, and they won their bowl game. So all is right with the collegiate football world.

I’m a clemson grad and fan. Been a fun past three years for sure.
All is not right as they were flat and not prepared for this game. I put the blame on the coaching staff.
All I can say now is go dawgs!

I love football. These players are modern day gladiators who risk their lives and health for our entertainment. Plus I have great respect for the players that take a knee protesting very ugly and illegal police brutality.
