Where do you get Snowballs...I grew up with them and have not seen them in many years..I do miss them, though I reason that "they are probably not as good" as I remember..that keeps me sane. But then again it would be nice to have one.

Here in Iowa we have snowballs falling right from the sky as I type. In fact, we've been getting a regular supply for months with a good likelihood of months more to come. All you have to do is move up here and you'll get more than you ever imagined.

I haven't seen them for a while either. Hostess went out of business a while ago (and folks started hoarding Twinkies) but some company bought the name and started remaking them. Haven't seen a return of the snowball in CT but I'll keep an eye out!
And I'm pretty sure your instinct about reality vs. your memory is likely spot on!

Over the fire made up of the furniture we're burning to keep warm, as the deep freeze has frozen our propane tank.

I'll bet they are great when you toast them and then add about 99% good single malt scotch.

I fully agree - some kind soul gave me a bottle of 18 year old Macallans for Christmas, but I didn't pour any onto the snowballs!

No Scotch, Jameson, not Bushmills. I repeat Jameson. All in honor of a friend, Mr Casey. But if I'm saving not spending its Rebel Yell Bourbon.
I'm a lefty, if I'm signing docs somebody might comment on being a lefty. My answer:
Left handed folks see where they're going.
Right handers see where they've been.
Carry on.

Joe-Joes from Trader Joe's are far better than Oreos. I'll bet Trader Joe is left handed because you get really good stuff at good prices and we lefties are not only smarter than everyone else and very humble, but we know where to buy cookies.
GCinSC2, welcome to the illuminati of lefties. I guess you've been a member for a long time, but we used to have to hide and pretend to be right handed, but we've finally come out.

After you chew down to the maple, you can use it for a toothpick.

What's the deal with Trader Joes? They opened one about 15 miles away, but I haven't checked it out.
They opened a Sprouts Farmers Market about a mile from us a year or so ago. I eat a healthy diet and look for good non or minimally processed foods, but was not at all impressed with Sprouts.
Just a couple of months ago a Lucky's Market open about two miles away and they have a lot of things I like. There is also a Natural Grocers nearby where I get a lot of things. However most of our groceries still come from King Soopers (Krogers). I just read labels carefully.
