Actually from the book "A Load of Hooey" by Bob Odenkirk, in which he takes various sayings commonly attributed to historical figures, and presents an entirely fictitious "unabridged" version.

But still a fine saying, nonetheless.

No one has yet proven to me that the chicken did cross the road. All the chickens that I've seen near a road were either on one side or the other.

The ones on the road itself have all been flat and motionless.

That shows me that hickens never successfully cross the road.

Hi, sadly we saw a flat goose on the street a few days ago. We saw a couple of geese contemplating walking across the street. Don't they know it's much safer for them to fly to the other side?

That's because Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan had chickens on the other side.

The Argue Thread

I submit that my Q5 gasser is a great TV for my 27' Classic, and looks way cooler than the diesel model. I'm scrapping the F250 and the fancy hitches, and heading pretty much nowhere now, as I live in a bland, boring state void of anything redeeming but... Oops.

p.s. - chicken tastes great, especially if you catch your own when they are x-ing a road.

We've started using a Don Henley hitch. The trailer weaves all over the place and parties all the time, but we get a peaceful easy feeling and we know it won't let us down.

Since Glen Frey died, the Don Henley hitch doesn't work any more and you have to replace it. You could go with a Joe Walsh hitch but all that are around are old and decrepit and likely to give out from hard use any minute. I'd recommend a Gary LeVox hitch - it will probably last you a good many years. And you'll be Changed!

Besides, the Joe Walsh hitch only works on the Rocky Mountain Way.

This is for my cousins from Tennessee where I was raised.....

This is the greatest thread ever.

A'int.

Is.

A'int!

Is!

A'INT!!

IS!!

At this point the fight usually started so I never got to see who won any argument. Regardless of the topic the arguments were all the same though.

Ah, the good old days of my youth! I'll take an AS road trip to the wilderness in my "old age" any day. Next adventure is Olympic NP: Hurricane Ridge, Sol Duc, Hoh rain forest, Cape Flattery. Try arguing with THAT!!

Ok, here goes: Unless your trailer is 25' or shorter, you'll not likely find a campsite to fit you in any of the official NP campgrounds in Olympic NP. Oh, the horror!

I was standin on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, waiting for the chicken to cross the street,

When a girl, my lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowed down just enough to leave the chicken as flat as can be.

Flying doesn't always work so well either. On one of my bike rides in Colorado, I saw a goose standing on the shoulder down the road. As I watched, he took off to fly across the road. He, however, did not establish an adequate climb angle. He slammed into the upper windshield of a pickup truck.
As I approached the scene of the hit and run attack on the goose, I noticed a guy come running of the house across from the crime scene. He ran out into the road and grabbed the still flopping around wild Canada goose by the neck. He then ran off behind his house with it.

The are so many legal, ethical, moral, and philosophical issues here, I've yet to figure out what to think about it. The only thing I've decided so far is that he probably had a great dinner.

THE ARGUE CLINIC
I know we're supposed to argue here. (I started this silly thread). However, the Argue Clinic is one of my all time favorites.

So I can't argue about posting it even if it might have been before.

Something Worth Arguing about !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just happen upon this thread:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/...ml#post1643969

In the above thread, there are many mentions of the word troll. However, I take exception to the origin put forth. It is preposterously proposed that the word's origin is the creatures that live under bridges and snatch gruff billy goats.

My understanding is that the word originated from the method of fishing called trolling. In trolling, one baits a hook and dangles it into water alongside or behind a slow moving boat. The intent is to trick some gullible fish into reacting to the bait and thus do some foolish. (for instance get caught, cleaned and eaten). Therefore, those who practice this same form of fishing on the internet should be called Trollers, as the word troll in this use is a verb. Instead some apparent ne'r-do-wells have chosen to malign those noble creatures who live under bridges and protect the rest of us from gruff Billy goats. If enough of you agree that this great miscarriage of justice needs to be rectified, I will set up a Gofundme site and you can all send me bunches of money to attack this problem (or possibly just buy toys).
