Reminds me of one of my favorite sayings.

Do you know how to recognize a successful man?

Do you know how to recognize a very successful man?
He has a good looking woman with him who picks up the check at dinner.

Hi, to all of you rich people. My first car was a 1953 Mercury 2dr hardtop. It had a smashed in 1/4 panel and a broken axle. I paid $50.00 for it and we pushed it home. My older brother put another axle in it and I drove it with an automatic transmission that only had low and reverse until we got another trans out of a parts car. My second car was a perfectly cherry 1954 Mercury 2dr hardtop. It had 64,000 miles on it, I was the third owner, and cleaned up like brand new. I paid $250.00 for this one.

Yeah, well, My amc Javelin was a family hand me down in 1988 from my uncle, the original owner. I think I spent as much time towing it home as I did driving it. Thats why my second car was a 1979 Honda Accord. $600 from a family friend. Not as cool but never broke down...

We now have 5 cars. From a 75 dodge pickup, a 89 Jaguar. ($1000. bucks and it's yours ) to the Sequoia. with a 90 Cherokee and 01 4-runner in between. All paid for and run, well the Jag runs kinda, electrical problems (big surprise) Got it from my Aunt for doing some work for her. Should have known better after they gave me the Javelin

Hi, we used to have a fleet of vehicles, but we got old and tried to simplify life. At one time, I told people that if we ever moved, we would need two of Bekin's largest moving vans and one Hadley transport. Now I think we need two of the super large trash dumpsters and that's just for my garage. Right now, I [and wife] own: 1959 Ford Galaxie, 2000 Lincoln Navigator, 2004 Aprilia Mojito Custom 150 motor scooter, 2005 BMW X-3, and a 2005 Airstream Safari.

Wow, 51 pages of blah, blah, blah and disgruntle blah! I thought just family and bosses enjoyed the bantering. The bug was a special treat for anyone living in the South. It would be an interesting challenge for our bug exterminators! Food for thought, "A sane person cannot make a crazy person sane but a crazy person can make a sane person crazy!"

Thats the problem I am running into. All though it's a black 4 door SJ6, Nice. Need to tear out the dash to replace both fan motors for the heat and A/C wife loves to drive it. It does drive really nice and will go over 115 mph

Wonder if I could Tow the AS with it????? That would look pretty cool

Actually, a lot of it is bonafide gruntle although I will admit there is some disgruntle.
I have my posts per page option set to max(100), so I am just barely into page 8.

By the way, check here for current definitions of gruntle. (don't if you are timid)

Urban Dictionary: gruntle

I always wondered if there was a gruntle without the dis. Kind of like Zen. According the the above definitions it is a verb with two distinct meanings. I think I will pass on the second form. Feeling very gruntled right now.

Sort of like being whelmed, a bit less than overwhelmed, but still too much.

As in "I was whelmed by my Jaguar, but not overwhelmed so I'd pay Gene $1,000 to take it away".

Has anyone seen two lerts? They seem to travel singly, so I have never seen more than a lert. That reminds me, I've always wondered where all the heads go? There are many signs to stop for a head, but I've never seen one on the road. Oh well.

HEY! I had one of those.....1980 XJ6 bought new. One of the best riding cars I have ever owned. Incredible handling for a big sedan. White with saddle interior, chrome wires.....very sleek. Never had any serious problems with it. The first 'EX' got it in the divorce (along with just about everything else! ). She ran it into the ground in the first 6 months. Oh well.............

As the NY State Trooper of African heritage who pulled me over doing 90 on the Taconic Parkway said "this is a delicious car". He gave me the ticket anyway but smiled the whole time!!!!!

Two pages later I'm still in time to get my high school car in...

Had a '63 Dodge Dart that was also used for mosquito-fogging duty then I traded it on THIS:

Well, mine LOOKED as good as this one, but I lowered the front by 2" over stock. Gave the car a rake just a little more than this one, and it would corner really fast. The car had the 4-speed and the PO put in a 4:11 axle. The combination of gear ratio and smaller tires meant you could not get your foot to the floor in First before you ran out of revs, it was that quick.
It was what today we'd call a 1/8th mile car, because it would hit its best speed in about 1/8th mile. Raced a guy with a '68 SS396 and a blower, and he was REALLY ticked because it took him ten seconds to pass me. Ended that argument... (See? I managed to even tie it to the thread!)

My first car was a 53 Merc 2-door hardtop. I ran it back and forth to high school and always had a lot of girls who needed a ride. It burned so much oil we went to Sears & Roebuck and bought recycled oil by the gallon. I figured it was on its last legs so I sold it to the girl who lived in the neighborhood for $100 and she drove it from Jersey to California and back. Wish I still had it. Sal.
