Back when I was in high school, one of the guys used to say "yo" to get someone's attention. This was in the mid-1950's. He was decades ahead of his time and I don't think anyone else used the term then (unless they spoke Spanish, but a different meaning). Eventually he must have influenced enough people to bring it into common use. After graduation, I never saw him again. Last year, a millennial told me "yo" was old fashioned. So it came and went and I never said it to anyone. I wonder if my life would have been different if I started saying "yo" 60 years ago.

As for F7, what does it do? I pretty much ignore all those F keys unless they have a symbol on them I can understand like volume or brightness.

I feel in this post I have been not been argumentative enough. I'd better see my doctor about that. It is the right and obligation of senior citizens to be a pain in the butt.

Obviously you are too good of a speller and grammarian to rely upon that function key.

Not having to shovel snow is one of the reason why I moved to California, and the only reason why I have not moved out

I'm not sure if I understand what's going on here.

I used to understand these things, now I don't.

Someone want to explain?

Hi, not being able to shovel snow is one of the reasons that I moved from California to Oregon. I bought my very first snow shovel this year and we didn't get any snow this year. [yet]

Maybe you do understand these things, but your rational mind cannot cope with the real meaning. Could this be another version of Last Year at Marienbad? Or perhaps, Groundhog Day?

Moving on, or down—

Roids? or Androids?

And we had about 5" lovely inches of wet snow last night, a welcome respite from warm days and dry skies. The snow shovel came out, mostly in my young wife's hands. I used the electric snow blower the past owner left us on the back deck, but the snow was so wet it clogged up the machine several times. Very good iceball snow. And for the steep driveway, I drove up and down with the pickup to crunch the snow down, thereby making it slick so when it freezes no one will be able to come up except us with our mighty Toyotas. Most of the day has been spent in fog (fog when you're in it, cloud when you are above or below it), clouds down in the valley that pile up and envelop us.

Meteorological fact: Clouds at altitude contain four times as much water vapor per cubic foot of air as does fog near ground level, and the water vapor in clouds is at a below-freezing temperature, so it's actually "ice" vapor. Fog and clouds are not the same thing.
