The Airstream Mile High Club: are you a member?
Joining the Mile High Club, as many know, entails "sleeping" in an aluminum cylinder that has windows, wheels, a door, and a bathroom, at an altitude above 5,280 feet.
So, how many have spent the night (with another consenting adult ) above 5,280 feet?

But wait
Well...like the majority of our NorCal/SoCal/BiCal friends, we are members of the club....but I must note that our illustrious greeter Kevbo, is the only one to acheive this "milestone" while his CCD was being transported at 24,000 feet in his brother's C-130 on his way to 29 Palms.

I live in Colorado at 6400', camped many times above 5280'. Last years Rocky Mtn. VAC rally was well above 5280" at Creede CO.

Uhhh.....
I've seen stars in my trailer, but not at that altitude.......
Isn't this forums supposed to be "G" rated?
"G".. it was a lot of fun!

Uh...yeah!
We too live over a mile high!
The RMVAC Rally this year is at 9,603 surrounded by "fourteeners" if any of you "rookies" wanna join the club!
But be careful, at altitude...many will get out of breath with excercise!

We live at 9200', so we haven't camped many times below a mile high.
For those of you who mentioned the rally. This will just be our second year with the Airstream. Is there a link about this years rally in Colorado, or could you share the detail?
Thanks: Charlie

I guess I should have looked better before posting. I found the link on your post Shari. This years rally is right next to us. We have a 1981 excella, so it is of Vintage age. I'll have to look through the website to see the details of joining the club. We've wanted to attend a rally, and it would be a shame to miss one in our own back yard.
Thanks: Charlie

BATHROOM!! Ah darn! Here I thougth I'd have been well qualified.... I've even proposed at 7500'... to my third ex-wife.... but there was never a bathroom in the Mooney 231. It had everything to qualify for the club with that one exception.... it even had oxygen, does that count?
15,000 at 200 kts was a regular event.....that's the two mile high club.

Next time just take a woman you don't like up a mountain and offer to buy her a house if she'll just leave you alone. Seems like that's how it ends up anyway.

An official verifier? I am not sure that there is anyone who would want that job! So we are gonna have to consider this one self-verified on the honor system...unless of course Kevbo has pictures.

Janet..
After a moment of deep thought...you are right...NO PICTURES. However, I am not sure that "left to the imagination" would be any safer. After all..it is Kevbo.

Well, since the park is right at 8,400, and we used to vacation here before buying the place, I guess we count, too!
