Summer time food. Fried green tomatoes!!
Last night my son had a friend over that has just moved from the East coast. I had fried green tomatoes when he sat down for supper he asked What Is That (common with my cooking) and I told him. He looked at me so funny and said Mrs. Lacy we have red tomatoes at our house. I looked at him and told him on this side of town we have green tomatoes. This morning his mom called and we had the biggest laugh.

Whoa now baby, that's some southern comfort food! What else is for dinner? Did you include that bourbon and coke? Hahaha

It's just to hot for the bourbon. But of course we had purple hull peas, fried chicken and a big pan of corn bread.

Just as I suspected. Love it.
We're moving to VA in August and will be closer to the Southern Comfort Food and our Grandchildren. Can't wait.
Will those REBs have a team this year?

Beck, tomatoes are real small around here this year, no rain. I just took off my first few red tomatoes today. MAN ARE THEY GOOD! Tomatoe samiches for lunch tomorrow!
Tell ya what, you bring the purple hulls and I'll bring the butter-peas to Perry next year. We'll have all of those non-southerners lookin' at us side-ways.

Zoomin, sure hope the Rebs come out this year mostly all new young players so it may be a learning year for us. We plan on just doing the Grove this year we did'nt buy season tickets first time in about 10 years the prices are tough $850 for 7 games 3 tickets.
Jim and Susan you got a deal on the peas. Just put 3 bushels up in the freezer.

DIV 1 getting out of sight for tickets and parking. We'll be in Blacksburg home of VA Tech and I enjoy going to their games as well. If Texas Tech or VA Tech ever play the Rebs, we'll drop you guys a line and pull the Silver Bullet down to Oxford. What a great event The Grove is even if you don't do the game.
