I guess I'm not out of the woods yet. Seems to still be a dead short Soooo, this time I'll break out my trusty test light and start searching before I start buying.

Sorry to hear this AZFD-- two questions:

Is it plugged in?
Is it turned on?

You'll figure it out and be alright, no doubt.

While it is possible for fuses to blow due to age, are you SURE that there wasn't a dead short somewhere that might have caused the fuse to blow in the first place? Didn't the show bench test the alternator to see if it was still good?

Oh well, been there, done that!

Hi, lesson learned, I hope. Diagnois first, then buy or repair what went bad. As a shop foreman, I still had to teach the younger mechanics to check the basics first; And diagnois, diagnois, diagnois, NO GUESSING!
But I'm still subject to make mistakes. Did I tell you about the time I found this really neat smoke alarm for my trailer? [previous post] A co-worker and I found this really neat smoke alarm with a HUSH button; So we both bought one for our RV's. Months later when I was able to get to the inside of my trailer I had planned on replaceing my original smoke alarm with this really neat one with the HUSH button on it. Guess what? It was the exact same thing my trailer already had from the factory. Now I have a spare.

I think my arrogance came from having the issue before and just ass,u,ming that it was the same thing. The shop didn't get a chance to bench test due to me breaking it after I already bought a new one.

I do learn but sometimes it costs more than others
