Stupid human tricks, part 2
Heard this on the morning news, motor home owners don't try this on the road.
Mr. X (name changed to protect the incredibly stupid) took delivery of a new Winnebago MH. After he got out on the expressway and set the cruise for 70, Mr. X then decided to make a cup of coffee. Not real surprising, the motor home crashed, also not so surprising Mr. X sued. A jury awarded him $1.75 million and a new motor home. Apparently Winnebago and the dealer had not made it absolutely clear that the steering wheel was not just a place to rest your coffee and donut while cruising the highways and byways. Winnebago has since changed their owners manuals. From channel 2 in Detroit, I could not make this up.

Juries
Stupid juries and shady lawyers ruined the private aircraft business. Sounds like now that that industry is sucked dry they are out to get the RV business now.
We all pay in the end for every stupid award.

He may have won the battle.....
But not the War! The "coffee" thing has been tried before and failed in the end. Did the report happen to mention if he passed (or even took) a driving exam? Any conscious Law Enforcment agency would have drilled him with "Failure to control" and then done an alcohol and drug exam, followed by a brain scan to see if one was present! Oscar

This was in today's paper-pretty freaky!
two sisters were killed when their vechicles collided head-on on a rural hwy as they traveled to visit each other. The women were driving in opposite directions when one of the vechicles crossed the center line, colliding with each orher.

Stupid things
Maybe, he should have sued Jaun Valdez and his donkey for picking the damn coffee beans in the first place. Tom

Driving stories...
Guess it takes all sorts to make tale sound better...like the famous GOLFER, who stopped at a country garage in his Rolls Royce, for fuel... the pump boy noticed a set of "TEES" on the passenger seat, being curious of what they were for, the country yokel asked the Golfer...who replied, They are for resting one's balls on...whilst driving....cor !!! blimey mate, says the local...Rolls Royce think of everything...
Bet the latest BOND car don't have them...lol...Chris.....

You can't legislate brains
For years, I sailed on an irrigation reservoir in Colorado. The lake would start out full in the spring and slowly fall all summer until about 100 yards of steep boat ramp was exposed, bordered with rock rip-rap on both sides.
I lived across the lake and one day I saw a very interesting small sailboat pass by on the highway, below. I got my binoculars to watch the guy launch. To my horror, he unhitched at the top of the ramp and, with his girlfriend sitting on top of the boat, picked up the trailer tongue and started down the ramp.
He stayed with the boat for about 20 feet before boat and girl got away and he ended up face down on the concrete. Boat ended up upended on the rocks about 100 feet down. Girl fortunately landed without injury in the only large patch of sand anywhere along the ramp.
Strange thing, at least 20 people stood by and watched the guy do it. Not a soul tried to stop or help him.
I found out later that the guy had been there a week earlier, sans boat, regailing everyone with tales about how he had sailed the Atlantic in that boat.
