Storage situation improving
The yard where I keep my trailer is in the process of finishing about 25 slanted storage slots. They are walled to within about 2' of the ground on the west side where most of our storms come from. I'll have a 35-foot slot.
This is a great improvement over my present slot which has only 39' between the posts and the adjacent building. Backing in a 29' trailer with a 3/4 ton extended cab truck that has a wide turning radius has been a challenge to say the least. Only the fact that I have a boat next to me allows some leeway. The new slots are slanted about 20 degrees and have plenty of turning room in front. The direction of approach turns the trailer to the driver's side for best visibility where my present slot is the opposite.
In the new storage, I'll be adjacent to my Airstream friend, Chuck Surman's Classic 31. Chuck had an office adjacent to mine at IBM a quarter-century ago. There is also a new Safari 28 and a new Sprinter B-van in the yard.
ETA in the new storage is July 15. It is finished except for wiring the 30a services.
