Steel and Aluminum Tariffs
Just curious, does anyone know what affect the steel and aluminum teriffs might have on Airstream?
We already own a Sport but you never know.

Question asked on one of the AS tours I took last week and we were told tariffs would have no impact on Airstream. All of the aluminum is sourced from Alcoa, either US or Canada

Although the panels may not be affected, many of the parts will be.
I work in a manufacturing-based industry and we are being told to expect price increases from suppliers.
I am sure that the sinks, water heaters, refrigerators, wire, electronics, and other parts going into an Airstream may be increasing.
Right now we are hearing figures between 5-8 range to a 15+% range from various customers and suppliers.

Alcoa has three smelters in Canada so those imports will have a tariff on them. Prices will rise of course. Tarrifs of any kind do not help any countries economy.

The tariffs are a short term business ploy to get rid of trade taxes. This will all go away shortly. The sky ism't falling.

I will happily pay more if it means more men and women in this country can get a good paying job.

Sales of manufacturing machinery in the US are exploding. It’s about time some of this work came back.

The company I work for goes thru literally tons of aluminum sheet & extrusion weekly. We have eliminated at least one product line because of the tariffs.
We have trucks in 2 - 3 x a week from Toronto.
The tariffs will impact us greatly.

Hi
One of the basic tricks of business these days is to "lock in" prices for a fairly long period of time ( like a year). That lets Airstream price a trailer back in May and be able to sell it for a year at that price. Who knows how that will all work with this and that ...
