There will always be trolls on these Forums whose main source of entertainment is to stir the pot. Most often I find them entertaining as they are obviously stupid people who don't know what they are talking about.

When they get out of hand and impart erroneous information, we try to shut them down.

Something I noticed about Stalkers.

They usually are found to have many short posts on a Thread or Threads. They are relatively recent members with thousands of short posts.

They are easily offended, misspell words as I do and say they will 'ignore a thread' but have to 'peek' in the event they are missing something interesting.

******

To those who post on Full Time Winter Camping... The month of April here on the Front Range of Colorado... I have seen over eight feet of snow, it is still snowing today and we could have stayed in Boulder City, Nevada. I have more mileage on my ATV with snow plow that on my trailer for the entire 2016 year.

It is May 1st. It is still snowing. Thalweg loves glaciers and should move from Buffalo, WY and bring a snow shovel that has had little use in Wyoming.

You bet I have Spring Fever. I cannot wait until... it arrives. We leave for New Mexico Friday AM and will never complain about sunny and dry weather in the Southwest... not that we did, but some Stalker might want to start a New Mexico thread.

We would have left earlier but we are deciding which kind of Toilet Paper is suitable for a 2014 Airstream. Not that we will use any, but it is comforting to know the facts.

The first part of his post is more than a little insulting in tone, but since he's setting himself up to be called a "newbie" for stalking your thread when he's anything but a newbie, I'm sure a joke was supposed to be there.

For me the joke comes in with his follow-up statement, "There are few original ideas, other than my own." Which of course was immediately followed by him creating a completely unoriginal new thread with the same name that even shamelessly plagiarized your original post in this thread.

Of course, whether Ray meant it as a joke or I just took to to be one because of my own defective sense of humor is a matter best left unexplored…

Ray, no matter what they say on "Game of Thrones", it is Spring that is coming.

AtomicNo13 understands that this is a 'spoof' of a Thread in the Off Topic Forum.

I would have never expected this Thread deserved such a response from the stalkers among the Not as Clever Thread.

Michael, thanks for your post (original post by the way). It doesn't take much to confuse me these days so when I looked at the forum just minutes ago I saw the same title on a thread that I swore I had already read. The second (copy cat) guy is quite long winded and could use some advice from someone like you. Yours brought up a concern, was short and to the point and finished with a question for all of us.

Others will spend $100 worth of words when it can be done using $1.57. I seldom read this guy. Can't follow because of my short attention span.

Innovate, Experiment and Question

Thank you for combining a 'Stalker Thread' that went wrong.

My point is the premise of the original post was wrong. I made what I felt was an obvious 'spoof' that making a statement that included no facts to support it. If I need to put the smiley faces, and others after each statement... to get the idea across as being clever, only several understood. It missed my point and am sorry for the confusion.

Stalking as it was put, was negative. It should not be negative, when it comes to ideas. This term used is more aligned with illegal acts and perversions, rather than the comparison of similar ideas.

My Boondocking is much different than the majority on the AirForum. So I define what I mean as Boondocking, then proceed. It eliminates confusion.

Often many Threads begin with a premise with no facts, just an opinion. Then it takes multiple questions to get more information.

My Question(s):

- Give some examples of 'Idea Stalking' on the Forum.
- Was the Stalking Thread(s) an improvement over the other? Or not?
- Must a new Thread be vetted for any repetition of any previous threads, before posting?
- The majority of Threads of no merit, die quickly. A natural death. Leave it be.

I do find it amusing that some prefer short statements and ignore those that contain more details. Much like a child's Primer Reader in first grade. Large pictures, large print and less than five words per sentence. I am not insulted. Most ideas have no ending, just refinements and tweaking.

For those who did not get the 'IRONY', a figure of speech in which the literal meaning is the opposite of the intended meaning, I apologize. No irony goes unpunished when well intended.

Stalker or coincidence?

I tend to think more discussion is a good thing Ray, as is a touch of sarcastic criticism from time to time...

Our culture has become a bit over sensitive and intolerant of dissenting opinions and a sharp wit put to use.

I say this as a person who has disagreed with you on this forum at least once.

On post length, hey, if the post grabs my attention I will read it all, if not I skim.

That said you are a pretty good writer, so you don't say the same thing over and over paragraph after paragraph or present a disjointed diatribe like some do... Like I said, some I read, some I skim. The author pretty much determines that.
