spring 2008 is here...airstream life style!

almost exactly 2 the day (364) last year...

the NEW EDITION OF AIRSTREAM LIFE the spring 08 quarterly arrived,

yesterday.

so here is the early review...

-fun cover art, and the original can be had from the asl store.

ads...

-fun arkansas dealer ad inside cover, gotta love the red tongue and sunflowers...

-also several other good dealer spreads in full page color...

-a/s service department ad,
many of these service dept guys have worked on my trailer so it's nice to see them all in one spot.

-i just love the vintage trailer suppy ads (with all those pix of replacement bits)

articles...

-good story on taking the 'old roads' and the americana along these routes.

-nice interview with the 'churchs'... this rv'n couple writes some of the best books on rv travel available.

-'how to win over yer spouse to rv'n' i think this was a THREAD used here last year to collect material 4 the story.

-good story and photos of the 'outer banks' of n'carolina...

-informative piece on the 'front kitchen models' from 56, 80, 94 and 95. again something we partially covered here way back.

-good farmers market story and good hot springs story...

these are topics that appeal to a much broader base than just a/s owners...

-nice set of ads for the a/s 'parks' around the country and a detailed story or the jersey shores location.

-modile rv technology, FINALLY we've got richC writing a piece on this topic, i just love gadgets....

a couple of other IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS in the issue, but i'll let ya find them...

lastly tinhut somehow ends up floating on the african queen with mrs tinhut (is she wearing a thong?) so don't miss the story!

anyway a solid issue, packed with info, many fine advertisements and so on...

just one problem...

what will i read tomorrow!

so ne1 lz got asl yet?

cheers

Yep, excellent issue. You got $250,000 for one of the surprises?

I read mine last night instead of watching the t.v., when I went to bed, while eating my breakfast this morning and finished up before getting dressed for work (two hours late for work). A really good issue - and I will re-read much of it all over again. I really liked the article on the Churchs' - they both took a 12 month leave from their CPA work - 15 years ago and they are still traveling. Isn't that great??? Lots of GREAT reading!!!

Smile Hi All,

Got my AS magazine 1 week ago. Love it especialy Mr. Tin hut and his adventures with the boss of the house. I can relate to all he writes about the Mrs. Tin hut. It would not be fun if we ever did what the women folk told us to do and the women would get bored with us becouse there would no one to tell us we are wrong.
Regards from Russell in Cloudy and cool Tucson Az.

and the little picture of a wet chilly looking emma sitting on daddy's knee at the hot springs is hilarious!

so much stuff packed into the issue folks.

cheers

Spring is in the air, or is it just in the mail? I am ever so anxious to see it. Thanks for teasing us with such a great view to the new issue!! Takes longer for Michigan since we are on another continent.

only another continent c'?

i thought it was another planet of course i'm kidding...

hey the cover clearly contains all the usual suspects under the guise of hats....

i c rich and e and E and the nissan and some other bits of familiar things in the graphic...

i'm guessing the illustration is from a montage of photos perhaps?

oh the mystery of it all...

perhaps the illistrator can fill us in...brad?

and from the town crier for only 4.95$!!!

cheers

Love that you're interpreting the piece, 2air!

It's built on a combination of photos gathered from Google images, my imagination, and personal experiences at the farmer's markets here in the Chicago area. I took this shot of my better half last summer - and used it for modeling the produce scale.

As for the identities of the different folks in this early morning view? I'll let that remain a mystery...
