Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Does the constant misspelling of "Yacht" (as in Land Yacht) as "Yatch" drive anyone else as nuts as it does me?

I guess it's one of those words that I can't read through...

Oh well...I guess no more coffee for me today, huh?!

Shari

FYI there are 16 threads and countless profiles that include this misspelling, not to mention ebay listings, photos and websites!

Yacht vrs Yatch

Hmmmmm Doesn't bother me but then I don't know any better.
At first I thought this might be a trick question so I looked it up in the dictionary...... I updated my profile.
Would be nice if we had a spell checker.
Most guys are just lousy spellers and I are one.

Now that you mention it, that must be the cause for my sleeping disorder...

This, I think, is why we can read Canny Banjo Man's posts
(But they still give me a headache! )

And I thought it was me!!

Thanks for the thread. I taught English for several years after retiring from the Navy, probably so I could re-learn the language, then I began to read e-mail and BBS postings. Down hill all over again! Whew! This has been a long and hard journey, and now I find out canny banjo man was right all along!!!!

As has been said many years ago: 'Thanks, I needed that!'

Take care,

Geez Ron,
I would guess because you weren't giving them enough to do.
