I wondered at first why one would go to quite that much trouble to haul a very-nice but not that rare '56 Continental (and at the time it was just "Continental", in fact, *NOT* a Lincoln. They were trying to set up a 4th division.)

Then I saw in the pictures that it's one of the 2 convertibles handmade as styling exercises and never actually produced on the line. That's another story altogether.

Amazing it is. The quality is there too.

The 1,000 of hours of work in this project is mind boggling.

He posted the same link on an antique car website and said he had nothing but positive reactions. I soon changed that. So he had my comment deleted.
Next I asked when he was going to jack up his Continental and put a Chevy 4X4 chassis and big block motor in it, so he would have a suitable tow vehicle. They deleted that too.

In my book it's too bad he had to mess up an old Spartanette that way.

Actually, Barry posted his build here on the forums at the time... he did have one accident in it shortly after building it, attributed to his sway setup (and also his rear engined Porsche which put too much weight in the rear). He rebuilt it again. Fantastic build.. and I do think it was a nice use of a forgotten trailer.

In addition, he had the round bar WD hitch and when the trailer swayed (probably due to the Porsche too far behind the axles) one bar slipped out of the hitch. The entire thread is on The Lincoln Forum.Net • Index page The rebuild is fantastic, in my opinion.
