Sorry, no Airstream (sigh..) but have Terry and need help!

I just came home with a 59 Terry. My husband wont be too happy if i don't find some information on this trailer. I have been surfing the net, and sadly can't find not one bit of info. Does anyone out there have any info they could provide me with. I don't know where to go for parts, what to do to fix it, nothing. The trailer is so darn cute...complete with the ORIGINAL, practically pristine mint green Martha Washington stove. Please help. I know it's not a Airstream...

Welcome to the forums. You might try www.tincantourists.com for more info - they have members with all kinds of vintage beauties.

I don't have a pic yet...as I just brought it home last night. All I can say now is that it's mint green on bottom and white on top. There are so many neat things about this trailer that make me sooo excited but the Fleetwood guy told me I will never find anything on it.

That's probably because he'd have much rather sold you a new Fleetwood.

Since Terry is a Fleetwood brand, and Fleetwood recently took over the old Avion Travelcade organization, you may have more luck looking for some old Avion people in the Fleetwood organization. They might recall what a 1959 Terry is.

And for the WBCCI people here, you might be interested in what happened to a club that became an orphan.

When you find out, please post a picture here and tell us all about your new vintage treasure. Sure, we have Airstreams, but we appreciate all those other old travel trailers that shared the roads with ours and have survived to roll again today. Don't forget, and good luck with your search!

Thank you for all the info so far. I will take a pic as soon as our wonderfull Seattle rain stops. My husband took a closer look in it tonight and discovered that the ice box is REALLY an ice box, with a hose to exterior for drainage. Also, there is a propane, heater or light inside...we can't figure out which yet. A water tank, and a hand pump at the sink to pump water. I am absolutely amazed at this trailer. I can't believe that some of this stuff is still intact. I was born in 1973, never in a million years did i think i would ever come across a treasure like this. I have always been a trash to treasure person, but this is crazy. Amazing, all the trailers I have seen just sitting out in fields....how can anyone pass them up?

Another place to check out is the vintage trailer forum on Yahoo groups:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vintagetrailerclub

While your at that, you may want to also sign up for the companion group vintagetrailerclub2 (created to make more photo space--they ask folks not to post there).

Glad you like this trailer! Good luck and enjoy!

Mary

PS Do you have a title for it? If it is lost, you may want to start to get one for it now (generally the DMV puts out a notice to identify if its been stolen) so you can drive it when its fixed up.

I can't wait to see some pictures. I love old trailers, and all the cool interiors and gadgets. I think it's just great that it has an icebox! Be sure to look up tin can tourists, because they have a big get-together up your way every summer - in Bellingham I think. You'll find lots of other trailer enthusiasts.
