Craig, I am so sorry for you loss. I lost my dad in June '02. We were in business together. I still find myself thinking, "I'll have to ask Dad what he thinks about______." Thank GOD for the time and memories you had with your parents.

Great weather

It started raining last night and stormed all night long. It stopped at 8 a.m. but the sky was still overcast, reminds me of Tennessee skys. Mom must have put in an order for great weather because the sky cleared off, the sun came out around 10 a.m. and was beautiful for her services at 11 a.m. All I can say is that everything was as perfect as perfect could be. Rather than a sad occasion, my sister and I wanted it to be a joyous time to see family friends, some of which I hadn't seen in years. We also wanted everyone to share in her life stories. That is how it went and how I think she would have wanted it.

I lost my Dad when I was 18 and it was a hard thing. When my Mom passed 25 years laster it was worse. I think it is because deep within we all know that no matter how bad things get or how stupid we've been, Mom will always be there and will love us anyway.

I wish I had some magic words that will make you feel better but I can say that as time passes you will hurt less and smile more at her memory. As described she was a special person and I imagine she wouldn't want you moping around so go home and fix your brakes...

Bob, I remember your thread very well. I was thinking about my mother and how long she had left as I was reading it. I went to the church for services today and kept an eye on my sister who has had tears in her eyes off and on since Mom passed away the first of the week. I guess I'd have to say that there have been a few in my eyes a couple of times also. I didn't know how I would react going back in after being there Friday for her services. It was a nice sermon today and the church my parents joined in 1954 as charter members is lucky to have such a fine minister. Having come from a Tullahoma church to a church in Corpus Christi, TX., well, Tullahoma lost out on that deal.
