I live down here - you would have to see it to believe it. Some people just don't "get it" - all they can do is talk bad about how well their government is treating them: FREE housing, FREE food, FREE rent, FREE cash ($2000 per month), FREE utilities, FREE transportation - In my eye the hurricane did not do good enough job. It's like a third world country in some places.

Oh well, when you see them complain on TV - just remember - This Administration has done more for hurricane displaced people than any other before. Those people in the Superdome were there because they did not listen to the warnings or chose to ignore them.

I was deployed to Waveland, MS after Katrina. Some of the guys I was working with, said of some areas, "I'll bet this place looked about the same before the hurricane hit!"

It's very true, some people left dead animals in 'em,a few humans died in 'em,some t/t's burned, spay painted indide & out, human waste smeared every where.A few had committed suiside, some turned into meth labs.Lots of trailers marked BIOHAZARD and placed in closed off areas.I worked as a fema contractor last year in LA,MS,and AL.Fema people and us contractors were told never to talk to media/public for any reason. Some one told Cnn...

Isn't your post above considered talking to the public?

Some how I bet the percentage of damaged and stripped trailers is on par with the percentage of scum...err I mean people that were on welfare prior to Katrina.

I agree with Yuki...

This post belongs in the Off Topic forum...it is not about Airstreams and seems to invite some serious vitriol. Nasty stuff, that!

Saw this one...made me sick. More and more folks have no sense of morality anymore.

Because this topic has nothing to do with Airstreams, and nothing positive can come from it, I am closing this thread. It will remain viewable, but no new posts are allowed.
