After twenty years of nearly continuous Airstream ownership of some six Airstreams, I've sold our 34' tri-axle two door yesterday. We'll continue to RV, though we bought something other than an Airstream (yes, yes... I've faced my destiny... I know Darth Vader is my father... I've gone to the Dark Side... ). The Behemoth has gone on it's way to it's new home in Michigan, and I wish the new owners all the best with it. It's a great trailer!
I've decided that being a moderator on an Airstream site probably ought best be done by folks who actually own Airstreams, so I'm stepping down here as a Moderator. I can't say enough about Andy R, the Admins, and other Mods here. They are all top flight folks who do a superb job. It has been a delight to have been able to work with them all over the past few years.
I intend to keep my membership as a regular member and continue to drop in regularly to stay current on Airstream lore.
Best regards to all!
Roger

It's a sad day when a streamer leaves the fold, especially after such a long run. I realize that sometimes Airstream does not make a model to fit everyone's wants and needs. Thank you for your participation in the Forums, and your efforts to make them great.
Happy trails, and we hope to see you on the road.

All I can say it:
Thank You!
Everyone understands that things change, but thanks for the great job!
I am glad you will still be out there on the road and on the forum.
I wish you the best of everything......
Roger, welcome again, but to a different role on the forum! I know that we number among the many members who have benefited from your participation here. Do you have any of your Airstream's left? I believe you have or have had an interesting collection of travel trailers through the years. May we continue to have your savvy comments in posts to come! ~G

It's a sad day, losing you both as a moderator and as a fellow 34' owner. Hope you are able to check back in from time to time, and regale us with tales of your "dark side" exploits!

I also would like to thank you Roger for your wit and experience. You have been a great contributor to what makes these forums so special. Now how are we to recognize you down the road without an Airstream? Maybe you should put your AIR sticker on your "dark side" trailer.
Roger, I have to say that your 34' 2door was my favorite Airstream. I had thought of asking you if you ever sold it to let me know. You have to tell us what you bought to replace it. I should be taking delivery of a new 2007 special order 25' Classic sometime next week at Colonial Airstream. Got word that it was leaving the factory on Friday. It's been a pleasure having you as a moderator and wish you the best for the future.
Jack
Someone in Michigan sure should be happy with that lovely trailer--hope they'll rally in MI and join the forum! Sorry to see you are leaving! Best wishes for the future!

I can’t totally agree with that statement.
As a former long-term Airstream owner, who has changed brands, you must have studied the options available in the RV market. You might be more experienced and objective, and be able to provide insightful and beneficial comments by continuing on as a Forum moderator.
Whereas new and diehard Airstream enthusiast might not be as objective and knowledgeable about progress and innovative improvements incorporated into the newer SOB products.
It’s been said that an Airstream is the world’s best, but the world, technology and the competition doesn’t stand still. One way to improve the product, would be to hear what recommendations you would make to Jackson Center to enable them to produce a product that meets your needs, wants and expectations.
