We "moved in" to the new trailer today. I wasn't going to talk about the new trailer, but since there's so much interest in what we got to replace the Behemoth, I'll fill you all in.
We bought a new '06 Bigfoot 25RQ. We paid roughly half of what a new 25' Classic Airstream runs. The cabinetry in the Bigfoot is a mix of the quality of the Safari and Classics. Everything else is top quality.

Bigfoot makes a great product. One doesn't see many of them in the Midwest!

Very nice and I like the layout. The 2007 25' Classic is Very expensive. A couple of years ago you could buy a new 34" for what they cost. It makes me wonder just how high Airstream can raise prices before it affects sales.

Bigfoots are very nice. We looked at many before getting our Airstream.
If we ever decide to go square, for whatever reason, we too would go for a Bigfoot.

They're built in Armstrong, BC. They're actually way more rare in the US than Airstreams, which is kind of cool. Of course they don't have the immediate brand identification on the road like the Airstream has... unless, of course, you know what you're looking at...
I actually have two; an '04 15B17CB, a 17' center bath single axle (shown being towed by my Kubota tractor in my new avatar) and this one. I found the 17' used and it's features and quality are what sold me on the bigger ones. Both came from Kramer's Kampers in Zion IL, the only dealer (to my knowledge) east of the Missouri River. The next closest is Country Campers in Fountain Co.
For comparison purposes, and for anyone who wants to know... the repair punch list for this unit totalled six items; the most serious that the pantry doors need to be replaced for black stains on the wood, and the stereo was mounted slightly crooked in the panel. There were no leaks, metal shavings, wood shavings, electrical failures, plumbing, or appliance issues.

Hi, Roger,
This is not the WBCCI. If you have something to contribute about Airstreams, who cares what you camp in now? This conflict is yours, not the folks on the forum on who read you and who have been helped by you.
Do what your nature and your conscience demands, and be comfortable with it. An Airstream or an interest in Airstreams are the terms of entry here. The absence of the Airstream without the absence of the interest or the experience hardly seems to be the exit.
I read your comments in a thread two years old earlier today, and I thought it worthwhile and a useful part of the flow.
Your mind can chase you off, but who here is going to?
Gee, if you're tired and want to quit, just say so.
Lamar (the littlest bean on the forum)

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Lamar... no, I'll stick around. I just honestly think that ownership is signficant, and particularly so for the Forums staff. I freely admit it's "my thing" and not something represented by Andy or the other Admins or Mods. I'm changing directions a little, but I'll still be around!

Roger-
Congrats and good luck with new trailer.. My neighbor is recently retired NASA Engineer and woodworking enthusiast, and he upgraded old Fleetwood/Tioga RV to buy 2005 Bigfoot Class C motorhome. Afer fixing a few bugs and adding rooftop solar and some other upgrades, he loves his. He spends 2 months in spring and two months in winter campground hosting at Yosemite, and values the insulation and ruggedness of the Bigfoot too...
We'll miss you, but look forward to stories form the wilderness...

Have you considered changing your avatar blocK?

Ok - I'm sorry - I could remove the Bigfeet part.... but I thought you had 2....
My neighbor has a bigfoot - it's a great trailer and he never has to polish, which means he has more time to camp! I guess that's where the term "lucky - SOB" comes from.

Yes, I do indeed have two 'feet'. They wear different sized shoes tho... one's a 17' and the other's a 25'... so I guess I really have 42 feet of 'feet?

Roger - was it something I said? Here I thought we were one big happy cult....
When I read the news I was in denial. "He's just kiddin' - Roger wouldn't leave us." Then I was struck with the uncontrollable urge to win you back. Then a stoke of genius; I'll just beat him into submission and hold him hostage in an Airstream, deprive him of sleep, food, sunlight, comfortable temperatures until he agrees to come back! Given my past experiences with brainwashing (hubby and kids still maintain minds of their own) I need something more effective.
Moving on to acceptance.........
Well, Rog, I guess I have to realize that all good things must come to an end. Wait a second.......just cause Roger doesn't own an Airstream doesn't mean it's over!
I just need to find myself a Bigfoot. Anyone wanna by an Argosy?

The more observant of you may have noticed that during the course of this thread, Roger's rivets have reappeared. He is now again a Rivet Masher. This means, among other things, he no longer requires support from the midwest chapter of the Get-A-Life Foundation.

Chocolate milk and togas....yes, I do believe I'm seeing the light.
>wondering<
"Roger's Bigfood Cult;" What on earth could the "Bigfoot Cult ways" be? I must admit, I am intrigued........
Will there be Bigfootforums.com? Will I be able to maintain my reputation as the wealth of knowledge I have here on the Airstream forums? Will I be able to keep my name "HotLAVA" or will my new family baptise me anew? Will they be as accepting of my misspellings and bad grammer? Will we have Bigfoot rallies twice/year? So many things to consider.........
>throwing caution to the wind - exercizing blind faith in Roger<
I'm in! I'm following Roger like the Hale Bop...
Just gotta find me a Bigfoot in my pricerange which is....well, free.
So long, fellow Airstreamers. If Roger goes, I go.
See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya.
Hasta la Vista (baby).
Adieu, Adieu. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Alright Roger. You got me. Nice Toga! Now where's that chocolate milk?
