The PO left me manuals, a hand-vac, rivets, polish, area rugs, assorted nuts and bolts, and a bamboo fishing pole! The trailer was spotless. Guess I got lucky, eh?

Like my dad, he's retired military. 'Betty' is battle-ready!

My wife reminded me we also found a jeep, a 3-wheeler, and a small dump truck under one twin bed behind the brown tubs.

Post what I found!

I have found a nail file that closes into its own case, a very old valentines card,( to or from Susan Bargman) What I delightlfully thought was on awning (under the couch) Which just turned out to be the poles, and a video cassette which my wife was sure was "adult" in nature, put it in the vcr and it opened up with two guys on a bed, my wife and I were howling as it turned out to be some reality show. Things that came with the camper include two yard ornament flamingos, a toaster oven, the original wheel lock chock, enough bulbs and fuses to last a while, 3 flares dated from 1974, the original manual, an original wall t.v. stand, hommade window "awnings" (which took me a while to figure out), a cactus,an issue of Life Magazine featuring Airstreams and camping in general, and it seems to be more but I can"t remember them right now.

Nothing stray. Not one thing. We even pulled out everything to replace the floor. The only sign of previous life in our trailer is a little plaque-type of a thing screwed into the wall that says, "God bless our Trailer Home." We thought it was pretty "trailery" so we left it. We were really lucky to get the original manuel and the porch light. I have not seen but 1 or 2. It is a removable fixture that plugs in to an outlet by the door. Has a thick glass jar looking cover. My single favorite item. It has a yellow "bug light" in it.

So far we've only found 4 pennies (vintage of course) a couple of pencils and a St Christopher’s medallion.
I just tore out the front dinette in my Minuet to replace the converter and the water lines.
I have found a large stack of vintage unused rivets between the converter and the battery box! It was like they were set down when someone was mounting the converter or battery box and then forgotten! They are the typical Airstream brown riviets and still in good shape. I am glad they forgot them. I will be using them to put the dinette back together!

last year when I went to replace the dump valves I had a dead mouse wind up on my chest when I went to drop the belly pan in the back of the trailer! I rested the belly pan on my chest as I went to slide it out. The dead mouse slid all the way down and wound up on my chest just below my chin!

This is a good thread! I like finding things in old homes or vehicles that i purchase. My MH had a mount of some sort on the door and I asked in this site if anyone knew what is was for (about a year ago). When i took the twin beds apart recently to do some wiring, i found an acrylic map of the United States with many states colored in. Obviously they were the states that the MH has been to. I placed it in it's spot on the door, and many people have asked me about it since.

We found, among other things:

a pair of rusty scissors
a mirror with a rainbow painted on it
magnets of the western states
a penny
a couple of photographs
a roll of shelf paper decorated with pink hearts
and hundreds of dead ladybugs!

It's on our list! We haven't settled on a name yet. Right now we're calling it "Piggybank" because of all the nickels and dimes (quarters, silver dollars, etc.) we're feeding it!

pictures of two guys who were apparently circus workers, because I also found circus route cards or something like that, and even contacted the circus to find out if the people who owned the trailer were still around. They said they hadn't been with the circus for a few years.

owner's manual and receipts indicate one of the P.O.'s name and address, they still live in Kansas!

I can tell you that the year 1394 is the hijri (Islamic) year that corresponds to 1974 on the AD (Christian) calendar. Might be Turkish.
