So How Do You Pay?

I'm selling a ProPride Hitch for about $2100, and am located in Vancouver, Canada. The guy interested in the hitch is located in Los Angeles. Both of us wonder how we could do this transaction so we're both protected (ie: I ship and get paid, he pays and gets the hitch)?

I'm sure this happens all the time, but without an intermediary like EBay, what do people do?

If you both have Paypal accounts you can bill him through that. You'll lose a percentage of the sale amount for the transaction fee of course....

I recently sold a Marvel fridge to a guy in Minnesota, I'm in California. He paid via pay-pal for the fridge. The original process was for him to set up the shipping. Turns out I needed to create the bill of lading here on my end. I've set up the shipping arrangement, he's sending payment via pay-pal again and off it goes.

The hard part about the whole thing is trusting the other person to do what they say they will do. I have talked with my buyer several times and felt very comfortable with the deal.

That's how I have sold many items to other folks across the country. Or you could set up an ebay buy it now and send them the link to buy direct. But, I have found that to be a pain in the arce. Just my 2 cents and good luck.

When I buy, I expect to pay for items before they are shipped. Works on e-bay, amazon, and in person. Method of payment is anything agreeable between buyer and seller. I do all my on line shopping with a credit/debit card. I use PayPal on e-bay when seller requests it with no problems ever.

If I don't trust a buyer (or seller), I don't do the deal.

Click on the link to see a picture of the Sioux River falls near my home.
Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.
