You might want to look into cooler chests that have electrical cooling...less weight to haul around and totally adequate drinks, etc while travel and camping as long as you have hookups. We have one we use sometimes...its a Coleman. They can be used upright as shown below or as a chest. Here's one I found with a quick search: 40-Quart Power Chill

knunut, I have a brand new, (in the box) Power Chill (never used) that I need to sell. If you are interested let me know. I know they sell for $88.00 @ wally world so I can give you a better price than that. I ordered one from them Site to Store and received (1) UPS and another (1) shipped to the store 2 years ago. Their mistake could be your gain. Let me know. Ed

I have dragged small fridge around in the past for just that use. Check out those power chill coolers carefully. Most of the ones I have seen won't cool more than 40* below ambient temps, so it is hitting 85*-90* outside your drinks are going to be a tad on the warm side.

We have an Engel brand refrigerater/freezer that runs on 12 volt or 110 AC that is wonderful. But, it is expensive, around $700. It has a control that allows you to set the temperature that you want. We have used it in freezer mode to bring back shrimp and fish from Florida to Colorado over a period of several days, and they remained frozen solid for the entire time. It is roughly the size of a 48 quart ice chest. ARB is another brand that is very similar. These refrigerators are made in Australia and are used extensively in the outback there.
