Slide out for a teardrop?

This is cool:
Gidget is the world's smallest caravan that is fully-equipped at just eight-feet long | Daily Mail Online

Then I thought, what would happen if you took say a 26 foot trailer, and created a tube within a tube - like a lipstick. Instead of a side slideout, what if you had a slide out where the length extended. You couldn't use the end caps, but you may be able to make a 26 footer go to 40 feet! Maybe you could set up 4 extra bunks to sleep another 8 people or so! table tennis in the middle... small roller rink... Maybe have both ends slide out so it's balanced on the axles with a drop down support.

The engineering is starting to give me a headache though.

All of your appliances would have to remain in the fixed portion.
Sliding frames aren't new.

The sliding portion you could add some wall mounted fold down beds similar to.
New folding "workbench" - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Recess in some LED puck lights above the beds (or if bunks, put some into the bottom of the top one).

Or if you don't want to fuss with the hinge portion, you could use permanant hooks on the wall and then create some storage for the flat boards and removable support legs.

I'm full of ideas, a few of them may even be useful.
And none of this means you can or should create a stretch AS..
