Like "DKB" armed with my smartphone and the aux input on my 2008 Tundra, I can listen to music stored on my phone, pandora music or talk on the phone hands free (with the music automatically muted). The music quality is great coming through the Tundra's speakers and I can talk on the phone just like the person is sitting next to me. I would never buy a vehicle without the aux input feature.

I have a fairly large SD card in my Droid 2. Can I use my computer to convert CD music to MP3 and then play it on my phone?

For music on the road there seem to be numerous options.. For us news junkies however satellite is the only real answer. Of course I guess one could use recordings of old news..Sometimes it seems it does not change that much anyway.

It's been worth every penny and my cost DROPS each month I keep using it!

$10,000 Seriously? Well the problem IMO is you probably want to see the video's also? Music alone would equate to proximately 500 hours of listening music from iTunes. Where are you traveling to? I guess different strokes for different folks. I don't feel I'm being argumentative (or mean to be), or contradictory, but being I am still among the working class and have limited travel time in our AS, we obviously don't need THAT much music to keep us entertained. This last fall we traveled from TN to NM then to the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest NP, Zion NP, and Bryce Canyon NP. then on to Kansas City and back in three weeks. Not our first trip to the areas, but guess we has a lot to talk about & see, and minimal "voids" in our trip which necessitated the need to fill those voids with music. I guess...., to each his own. Oh, yeah, additionally I don't feel the need to constantly keep on top of the pack with the latest technologies.

Regards, Terry.

I hadn't thought of the expense if you do not already have a ridiculously large music collection. However, if you search the iTunes Store you'll find free podcasts of anything you want, from music to old time radio to science fiction to recent news. If you are a news junkie then Sirius could be a good choice, but if all you want is some music or other entertainment there is no need to spend money.

As for technology becoming obsolete, my iPod Classic is old school these days, but it still does the job.

It all comes down to personal preferences. I cannot listen to the compressed music on Sirius. The signal is too noisy for my tastes. YMMV.

3 min a song is 20 songs per hour...20 x 500 hours = 10,000 songs....10,000 x 99 cents (iTunes price per song) = $ 9,999.99...so I was off a penny....

My Motorola Milestone X phone came with a 2 GB mini SD card. After loading up 36 albums, the card was full. I just recently bought a 16 GB card for $15, so I will be able to load up another 200 albums. Yes, you just download the songs/albums from your computer to your phone/mp3 player.

The Art Bell reruns on Saturday night are more than worth the cost of admission. I love a good alien conspiracy theory.

We're both wrong! I'm off by $99.99, so you were off by a penny...

Interestingly enough, yesterday's mail brought a letter from XM with a list of my radios and when the subscriptions expired along with info on dropping the subs. Perhaps someone in the PI reads this forum!

I just got a letter in the mail stating that I had canceled my subscription. Now it is confirmed! I will still keep a lookout for charges from these scoundrels.
