I just looked down and notice that I only have on one shoe. Hump. Where is my other shoe. I don't remember removing it.... Anyway, on to my story...
Greetings all! I have finally settled in Reno, NV! Although I still haven't had my coffee, I decided to sit for a minute and give you an update...
I, my friend Tony, and pup Anna towed the Silver Olive all the way from Titusville, FL to Reno without any technical issues. She pulled beautifully across this amazing country. Though we considered the trip out here a *speed run* because I had to start work, it still took us 6 days. It was quite a trip. We were both new to driving in the mountains and still pretty new to towing a trailer too. (I'll never complain about a 9 hr drive again - well, maybe.) The most difficult part of the trip was negotiating Dallas TX at 5:00 pm on Friday. But seeing the country was amazing. The only real sightseeing stop we were able to make was the Grand Canyon. I am sure glad that we did unhook and go to see it.
So, the Silver Olive is tucked beside the house here in the Palomino Valley and she encountered some white fluffy stuff last week. I think I can see a bit more movement at the rear bumper but nothing pronounced. I have a whole lot of time to work on her while out here.
I am enjoying working on the ranch. I spend a good amount of time tending the horses and working in the orchard. Today I will start harvesting some apples! This is a far cry from the Space Center and my previous life.
Thanks to all who gave me sage advice about negotiating this trip!
