Some of the regional parks in nova have storage facilities. They are affordable but the biggest issue is getting a space. The spaces do turn much faster than what the office tells you.

Less than 3hrs you can go to the ocean or the mountains from nova. Va also has some really nice state parks.

Laura in addition to the great camping out East there are a great bunch of Airstreamers locally: the WDCU...WBCCI unit. In fact their Spring rally is in the Washington area 4/25 - 4/28. Can you tell we all want you to keep your Airstream? LOL. If I could get the time off work I'd love to fly out and drive your rig back for you. Welcome to the East.

Could we create a relay to bring this trailer east?

All right ya'll. I'm giving serious consideration to bringing the Silver Olive back east.

I'm wondering about storage. Anything close to Annapolis that's under $50/mo? Not sure I'd ever use her if I had to store it 3 hrs away... Especially since I'll unlikely get anything more than a weekend off from the new job for the first year. :-(

Soooooooo, it's official.... I'M TAKING THE SILVER OLIVE WITH ME!

Or something like that. It'll be transported for me by RV Xpress, as recommended by the mothership.

I'm off to get new tires, battery and pack the bearings. The driver will be headed from California eastward in 5 days!

Thanks for that idea Paula. And thanks to the folks who offered to do this tow for me! Again, what a great community. I would have missed ya'll as much as my Silver Olive.

With a heavy, heavy heart, I must sell my beloved Silver Olive.
Gosh Laura I would not do it unless I had to. If at all possible, you could put some stuff in it and take it with. Virginia is a beautiful state and you will begin to appreciate it once the newness of the job wears off. I know it is your decision but it could be really nice to have even as a temporary apartment if need be. When I read your post it sounded like you were not happy about selling so I would take it about 400 miles a day. Hey anyone know of any camping spots outside of DC for Laura?!?!?

oh, just saw the message with the clapping smilies. Great to hear the news!!

Have been silently watching this thread. Knew all along you would not sell. Now come back to the Canopener in January.

Your news made my day! Glad that you are taking the Silver Olive with you. You won't be sorry.

Headed East

The Silver Olive has left the mountain. What a bittersweet departure. I felt she was in good hands with the gentleman hired to tow her to DC. The winds were gusting to about 45-50 mph as he took her down the road - thankfully they are not so strong on the valley floor, nor in the eastward direction. Hope to be reunited with her in a couple weeks.
