'Secret Society'??????

I got a Bee in my BVD's! Just got done watching an RVing episode on the "Travel Channel". They explained there were over 21K AS's on the road today (over 60% of all manufactured units).....yes we're proud of that. They referred to Airstream owners as a "Secret Society of RV'ers" . Tell me...........is there a secret password?, a test of right of ownership?, a quiz on types of AS's (Safari, Excella, Argosy, etc)?, hazing by older AS owners at Rallies?, secret code in our #'s?..... to earn our WBCCI #'s I don't know about??? The program portrayed Airstreamers as a bunch of "elitists"! After watching this program, I was even more proud of being an AS Owner! With over 2 million other SOB's on ther road, we are a small faction. AS's are not the fanciest, not the cheapest, kinda middle of the road really(compared to the whole spectrum of RV's).....and well built! I consider my AS as unique, functional, mobile, easy to maintain...not lavish. I've seen the Marathons, Monacos, Fleetwoods, and I'M PROUD TO BE AN AIRSTREAM OWNER!
There......I got the Bee out of my BVD's...........Whew!

I saw this episode also. I have seen it before. It was pretty good. But I think the "secret society" was just a play on words since the title of the program was RV Secrets.

I think they were referencing the uniqueness of the Airstream and the fact that Airstreamers have a unique mentality and unity. Plus, there are no other brand specific RV clubs as large as the WBCCI. The SOB owners have to join generic RV clubs and the WBCCI is exclusive and the VAC is even more exclusive. Etc., etc., etc.

No dispute on that....I enjoyed the program.....just that if you weren't tuned into the RV Secrets., you would think that AS'ers were really a "secret society".

No dispute there....we definitely have our own problems and concerns unique to the design we bought into!

So there are no other RV groups as large as WBCCI??? How do we know that ??? What about Fleetwoods, Marathons, Komforts, Wilderness, Montanas, etc., etc,.

Do you mean "Good Sam"? Don't they also have their own "Brand" groups ...with their own forums, membership, etc?
I'm new to this....so explaining might be in order!!!

I don't think that there are many if any other brand clubs. My friend at work is trying to find a Keystone forum for the "Toybox" line of trailers. He is having no luck as of now. He really does not like Airstreams, but loves this forum for the help it provides. He asks me question (not as many as I ask him) and I search the forums for answers.

Brand Clubs

There is a Scamp Club in Canada, and I saw a Jeep Wagoneer Forum.
The Internet has brought together collectors and all sorts of fanatics.

There is a Holiday Rambler club that holds rallies the same as WBCCI. I ended up parked with 5 diesel pushers and a 5th wheel in Arkansas earlier this year, they had all been to a rally. One of the members gave me a copy of the magazine that the club publishes, there are supposed to be 11,000 members so at least one other brand club exists.

There is a Fleetwood club, All of their brands are eligible. The is a special club for Bounder owners. The Alfa brand has a club as well as the Sunnybrook company.

The one thing that makes WBCCI unique is the fact that the club is NOT owned by the manufacturer of the qualifying product. All of the other travel trailer clubs I am aware of are manufacturer subsidized. There are still dues, but the bulk of the club is run by the parent company.

Dang it! Why'd they go and spoil the surprise? I guess there's no point in bringing the paddle to the rally now...

Flip a coin. One polititian's not much different than the next, so we still don't know and I barely care. How can you tell when a polititian's lying? His/Her lips are moving - aw, you already knew that one I'm so glad the elections are almost over!

Bees in the BVD's could be painful or cause other problems????
It happened at the "return of the peeps" rally in February. (I'm trying to attach a picture, hope it works)
