The scam Craigslist ads are up nearly all the time... making a new thread about every one of them is going to turn into a lot of threads very quickly...

Actually, scammers have been rampant since the mid-1990s, when the internet was made commercial. Prior to that, the whole business was a bit esoteric anyway. (Anybody remember the days of arpanet and bitnet? I do!) What is suprising is how successful the scammers continue to me at fooling people.

I don't remember those, but I do remember when my ticket to cyberspace was a 14.4k modem and a dial up connection to compuserve.

Considering the world's present population, I think that-
"There's one born every minute" is a extreme understatement.
Some people just can't resist a free lunch.

Yeah, bitnet was a system that sent messages as a whole through networks at universities. It preceded the commercial startup with compuserve, not but by a lot. Back then, we paid the university for an account based on milliseconds of CPU time we took up. I went over to the computing center once and tried to get them a couple of dollars, and they thought that would cover me for a few years to come.

We have another scammer on here with the email address of c_mages@yahoo.com and name of Curtis Mages. This is the 2nd time in one week that my ad has been "inquired on from a very interested party."

Just FYI.

Thanks for the report - we'll take a look. You can always report the questionable PM by hitting the little red triangle in the upper right corner. Sending a report like this is very helpful when we're trying to sort out the issue

I'm not sure what you mean by "on here". Are you saying it is an Airforums member?
