Saturn Demand Increases

Do plastic body panels have a future? Remember those Saturn commercials showing shopping carts bouncing harmlessly off of plastic body panels? Good idea, right? But apparently the approach never really caught on. Now the question is: will it ever?

Well, with the recent news from Iran, that a cyclist put a magnetic bomb on the rear door of an auto carrying the nuclear scientist, the Saturn may become a "must have" for traveling in areas where political unrest is in progress.

only problem with this solution, Saturn has been shut down completely, and the last few models that Saturn produced, all panels were metal, not plastic.
And to be perfectly honest, the GM models that have the plastic panels, no idea about rest of United States, but the sun here in Florida has played havoc on those panels. I can only imagine what the Saturn would look like after a few seasons in the 'political unrest' areas of the world.
Thanks, Derek

A Corvette sounds like a better idea to me.

Of course, it always has. Just never been able to work one into the budget.

They might be able to get some old east German Trabants. I think their body panels were kind of a paper-phenolic composition like cheap printed circuit boards. . .

Also Saturns were a very popular toad for motorhomes. They could be flat towed easily.
I worked for them in the early 90s, the plant in Spring Hill Tenn was awesome I went there for training.

Maybe -- then they might want AIRSTREAM Classis motorhomes like NASA? No magnet will stick to them.
